Follow blueprints, schematics, operation manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications. Troubleshoot sources of equipment problems through observation and use of precision measuring and testing instruments. Perform boiler chemical and wastewater pre-treatment system testing, record results in logbooks / computer systems and make necessary chemical adjustments as required Perform daily and weekly safety checks on boilers and make necessary repairs as required. Record and analyze meter readings of utilities in long and take corrective actions when necessary. Perform daily and weekly location/system safety checks and follow up to address concerns. Inspect motor, belts, fluid levels, replace filters and perform other maintenance actions in accordance with maintenance procedures. Inspect, clean and lubricate shafts, bearings gears and other equipment parts in accordance with work procedures and technical manual. Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System. Perform other duties as assigned by leadership. Qualifications What we're looking for: High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Two-year technical degree in an appropriate background is preferred. Must be at least 18 years of age. Valid driver's license and a safe driving record are required. Knowledgeable in maintenance equipment. Minimum of 6 months' work experience repairing industrial processing equipment in a production environment is required. Applicable military experience will be considered. Must pass UniFirst's maintenance knowledge assessment test to be eligible for employment. Ability to read blueprints and schematics is required. Ability to read and understand maintenance literature printed in English is required. Basic computer and Microsoft Office skills is required. Lockout / Tagout experience is required Ability to work overtime as needed is required. Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. Performs routine grounds keeping duties, including installing sod, mowing grass, trimming trees and shrubbery, installing and maintaining landscape materials, removing weeds, edging walkways, applying mulch, removing trash and debris, etc. Performs landscaping, grounds keeping, carpentry, masonry, plumbing and/or mechanical work and/or general manual labor as necessary to maintain Parks Division grounds, structures, equipment and vehicles. Performs general maintenance and clean up duties at City parks which include, but are not limited to, emptying trash receptacles, sweeping, mopping and vacuuming floors, wiping down tables, chairs and other furnishings, replenishing toilet paper and hand towels, and cleaning concession area, restrooms and fields. Picks up and disposes ground trash and landscape debris. Performs general maintenance in City cemeteries to include mowing, string trimming, edging, spraying, blowing. Raise and straighten grave markers as needed. Participates in mausoleum and in ground burial services in City cemeteries. Installs and maintains playground equipment, fencing, signs, pathways, etc. Maintains assigned equipment and vehicles. Assists with set-up and breakdown of City events, programming activities and facility rentals. Performs park inspections to ensure the safety of the public and park facilities. Identifies, reports, repairs and prevents possible safety hazards to avoid potential injuries. Prepares and submits required records and reports. Enforces safety and other park rules and regulations. ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS Performs general custodial duties including cleaning restrooms as required. Performs other related duties as required. * Must possess or obtain a 10-Hour OSHA General Industry Card within three (3) months of hire; and * Must possess (or be able to obtain within fourteen (14) days of hire) and maintain a valid Florida driver's license. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Some experience in manual labor, lawn and/or landscape work.
