Makati Medical Center company history timeline

1969

On May 31, 1969, the Makati Medical Center formally opened its doors to the public.

In 1969, Doctor Raul G. Fores was the youngest member of the founders group.

1979

Upon his death in 1979, the Makati Medical Center Operating Room was renamed the J.Y. Fores Surgical Pavilion.

1988

Until his death in 1988, Doctor Manahan held several positions at Makati Medical Center, including Chairman, Medical Director, Director of Research and Development, and Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

1989

He was also the first director of the Office of Medical Education, a position he held until his passing in 1989.

2004

July 23, 2004- Collapse of the "Leaning Tower" of Divisoria! On July 23, 2004, a building collapsed in Divisoria the famous Manila ’s classic bargain street-shopping district.

2007

Makati Medical Center became a part of the Metro Pacific Investment Corporation’s (MPIC) group of hospitals in 2007 following MPIC’s investment in Medical Doctors, Inc., owner and operator of MakatiMed.

2010

May 10, 2010: Philippines first automated election.

2019

On May 31, 2019, Makati Medical Center celebrated its golden anniversary.

A Patient Experience Program was established in 2019 to ensure that MakatiMed delivers quality service to all patients in every encounter from admission to discharge.
