If you can make it into a supervisory or management role, you'll definitely learn a lot. That's mainly because you won't be trained on anything or have any support from those above you, but you will definitely learn a lot.
Pre-Alterra, Mammoth was broke. Post-Alterra, Mammoth is cheap. Despite housing being the single largest challenge facing the company, they do nothing meaningful to support their staff - minimum wage remains far below the cost of living, annual raises aren't a thing in most departments (and if you are given a cost of living adjustment, it's far, far below inflation). Every department I worked in (7 years with the company) was chronically understaffed and underpaid, while upper management is allowed to sexually harass their staff and dump all their actual work onto their subordinates. Stay the hell away from this place
Getting to give your blood, sweat and tears to a place that doesn't care if you survive your shift.
Jared is an absolute scumbag. He's responsible for the Ticketmaster/LiveNation merger (i.e. the most damaging monopoly in modern American history), and will gladly pat himself on the back while screwing over customers and staff alike.
Get rid of everyone in Denver and let the resorts run themselves. At least we could all be broke and homeless together
Mammoth will hire anybody with a pulse for the majority of their jobs. This is despite the best efforts of their recruiter to identify competent staff
Absolutely atrocious. Do you like ramen? Because you'll barely be able to afford it if you want the luxury of a shitty apartment!
If you're white, it's fine. If not..... hope you like working in a kitchen or housekeeping, because there's not going to be a whole lot else for you to do.
I used to love snowboarding. Somehow this place beat that out of me, too
Nothing
Mammoth mountian does not value their employees, they only value their upper management. If you rub someone in upper management wrong, watch out! It won’t be long until they terminate you. You will be over worked, underpaid and also under appreciated.
The ski pass is the only benefit
