Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced Engineer III - Power Studies and Design, responsible for a broad range of detailed engineering designs for high voltage substation, collection, and transmission projects for utility scale generation projects (Wind, Solar, Storage, etc.) You will be responsible for working closely with other engineering and design team members to coordinate the overall design package and requirements. The main focus of this position will be Power Studies - including: Short Circuit, Reactive Power and Losses using software PSSE, and Arc Flash using ETAP. This role includes performing the studies and performing quality control on other's work.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for working closely with other engineering and design team members to coordinate the overall design package and requirements
Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria by using judgment in making adaptations and modifications and providing interpretations and conclusions with support from other Engineers
Interface and present to multiple stakeholders (e.g. customer decision-makers, project teams, etc.)
Perform data analysis and basic engineering calculations required for designs from low voltage through 500 kV substations.
Assist with the review and approval of equipment vendor drawings and test reports on equipment from manufacturers
Provide engineering support for proposals, estimating, procurement, and construction
Mentor, coach and develop junior team members
Assists higher and lower-level engineers in the completion of large complex projects
Support studies methodology development that shape analysis practices aligned with our customer requirements and Mortenson's best practice standards
Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and Design Phase Managers to successfully deliver design projects
Verify that construction agrees with electrical engineering design drawings
Implement the QA/QC process
Assist in the development and evaluation of the technical requirements for procurement and construction packages
Assist field personnel in resolving unanticipated site conditions
Experienced in electrical power engineering theories and principles
Experienced in researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations, and preparing and presenting recommendations
Excellent written and oral communication skills
QUALIFICATIONS:
Preferred Masters or PhD Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related Engineering program
Strongly preferred degree is from a school of engineering with accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum

Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced Project Engineer I and II to join our Energy Storage Group to review, provide analysis, management, and resolution of field coordination issues with project team members and participants. RESPONSIBILITIES
Organization, flexibility, excellent customer focus and strong communication are critical in performing duties which include, but are not limited to:
• Interpret project plans, specifications, and details for subcontractors and craft persons
• Implement the pre-construction quality plan
• Obtain and maintain all necessary construction permits
• Work with Project Manager for fee payments or recurring permit expenses
• Develop and maintain: Material Tracking List, Project Test and Inspection Listing, Concrete Placement Log, Non-Conformance Report
• Create, oversee, and distribute contract documents
• Establish handling procedures for electronic documents, including Request for Information (RFI) and correspondence
• Incorporate all processes and procedures that support the project closeout phase
Lead all aspects of testing and inspection processes for the construction quality management program
• Implement three-phase inspection system
• Establish reporting formats, protocols, schedules, and any off-site testing procedures
• Notify the Project Manager and Superintendent promptly of test results or inspection items that do not conform to contract requirements
Handle submittals
• Set up register in accordance with project specifications
• Obtain the customer/architect's approval
• Prepare project-specific transmittal forms in PCMS
• Coordinate the packaging, review, and processing of submittals
• Expedite submittals to ensure material deliveries are in sync with the project schedule
• Communicate details and requirements for the submittal process to subcontractors and suppliers,
• Issue submittal requirement letters that outline packaging and processing requirements
• Provide periodic updates of the submittal register to the customer or architect
• Coordinate details of various subcontractors, including verifying insurance, preparing paperwork, and requesting final payment from Finance
• Develop and distribute RFIs and Change Orders
• Define and implement procedures for posting revisions and updates to as-build construction documents
• Incorporate subcontractor as-built documentation in the procedures for revising or updating contract documents
• Responsible for the mentoring, management, and timely performance evaluation of field engineers
Other duties as assigned, including:
• Determine alternative work methods as needed
• Coordinate safety and compliance for all team members
• Maintain schedule of timelines and follow through until completion
• Create all wage tables for Energy Storage
• Work with project teams to ensure IRA language is included in all subcontracts
