We are seeking a motivated Data Analyst/Power BI Specialist to work onsite and who will work closely with management and departments to turn data into meaningful insights. Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain and enhance interactive dashboards and visualizations in Power BI to support key business functions: underwriting performance, claims and marketing trends, loss ratios, expense analysis, policy-holder reporting.
Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from multiple internal sources (policy system, claims system, marketing, ERP/finance) into analytical datasets.
Write and optimize SQL queries (or equivalent) to support reporting and analytics.
Ensure data quality, consistency and integrity: identify anomalies, collaborate with data/IT teams to remediate.
Work with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs, translate them into technical requirements and deliver actionable insights that empower data driven decisions.
Create/adapt KPI frameworks and metrics (e.g., combined ratio, claim frequency/severity, retention/renewal rates).
Present findings in a clear and compelling way to non-technical audiences; support decision-making across departments.
Ad hoc analyses: trend analysis, segmentation, benchmarking, scenario modelling.
Document data definitions, metadata, and maintain documentation including user training materials on dashboards and analytics tools.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative field (or equivalent work experience).
2-5 years of experience in a data-analysis or business-intelligence role; ideally with insurance or financial services exposure.
Proficiency in Power BI: building dashboards, data modelling, DAX, data refresh schedules.
Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases.
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, comfortable working with large/complex datasets.
Good business acumen - able to partner with underwriting, claims, finance and operations stakeholders.
Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to translate technical results into business insights.
Detail-oriented and capable of ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in property & casualty insurance (underwriting, claims, insurance accounting, actuarial).
Familiarity with insurance metrics (loss ratios, retention, premium growth, loss development) and regulatory/reporting requirements.
Familiarity with other BI/analytics tools (Power Query, Python/R) and experience with cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS).
Certification in Power BI or data analytics.
Experience with statistical modelling or predictive analytics would be a plus.

The impact you'll make:
Develop data quality and standards: These are based on analytical research to avoid similar problems in the future. These standards will include building data validation procedures, quality checks and profiling reports. Once created, it is their duty to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, data governance and documentation workflows.
Work with stakeholders and Customers: This could entail informing decision-makers about the implications of issues, working with data stewards to resolve data quality problems or creating educational resources to help other organization members and clients.
Data Cleaning and Transformation: Extract, Transform and Load data. Cleanse and transform data to improve its quality and consistency. Implement data cleansing techniques such as standardization, normalization, and deduplication. Develop and execute data quality rules and scripts to automate data cleansing processes.
Analyses data quality issues: When problems with data integrity are discovered the Data Quality Analyst will analyze and determine the root cause. This may involve working with other SMEs of the organization such as data stewards to understand how the data is collected, processed, and stored.
Data Validation and verification: Validate data against business rules and industry standards. Verify data accuracy through cross-referencing. Implement data validating procedures to ensure data integrity.
Identifying data quality issues: This entails using a variety of tools and techniques such as data profiling and cleansing. It is likely that they will work with other SMEs to develop metrics that can be used to measure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of the data.
Monitor data quality: This amounts to assessing and reviewing the data to ensure that it meets the organization's standards. This may involve developing and running tests or using dashboards to track the health of the data.
Collaborate with other data professionals: To ensure that data quality is integrated across the entire data lifecycle, it is necessary for them to work closely with other professionals including data analysts and engineers. Who you are:

Essential Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university and/or the equivalent training and administrative work experience involving the study, analysis, evaluation, development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices or programs plus four years of related experience. Working knowledge of and the ability to apply standard theories, principles, practices, and techniques applicable to the program and/or administrative specialty to develop conclusions and make recommendations. The Asian Pacific Excellence (APEX) Program Analyst supports the implementation, coordination, and strategic development of the Asian Pacific Excellence (APEX) program at Cal State Fullerton. APEX is a culturally responsive, cohort-based student success and leadership initiative designed to support the recruitment, retention, and graduation of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) students, with a strong emphasis on culturally relevant practices in identity development, civic engagement, and coalition building. The APEX Program Analyst will provide administrative support to ensure that this program meets the criteria of the CSU Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Student Achievement Program (ASAP).
In this role, the staff leads all aspects of program planning, student engagement, faculty/staff collaboration, and community partnerships. The APEX Program Analyst works cross-divisionally with Asian Pacific American Resource Center, academic departments, faculty, and student organizations to ensure the delivery of impactful and equity-centered learning experiences. The ideal candidate brings a deep commitment to AANHPI student success, intersectional equity practices, and community-engaged leadership development.
The APEX program is a collaboration with the CSU AANHPI Student Achievement Program (ASAP). The California State University (CSU) Chancellor's Office, in collaboration with the CSU Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Student Achievement Program (CSU ASAP) Central Office, is making funds available to support university ASAP activities. As part of California Assembly Bill 190, annual appropriations of $8 million will be made available to the CSU to operationalize the AANHPI Student Achievement Program across the university system, as outlined in California Education Code 89297.1. Other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university and/or the equivalent training and administrative work experience involving the study, analysis, evaluation, development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices or programs plus four years of related experience. Working knowledge of and the ability to apply standard theories, principles, practices, and techniques applicable to the program and/or administrative specialty to develop conclusions and make recommendations. Thorough knowledge of the policies, procedures, and outside regulations pertaining to the applicable program and/or administrative specialty. Working knowledge of operational and fiscal analysis and techniques. Ability to take initiative and plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved. Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field (e.g., Higher Education, Asian American Studies, Public Policy). Experience with grant-funded programs, institutional reporting, and budget tracking. Familiarity with the CSU system, AANAPISI designation, or Culturally Engaging Campus Environment (CECE) model. Experience working with AANHPI communities and interethnic coalitions. Demonstrated success in managing culturally relevant programs that center AANHPI and/or other marginalized student communities. Experience with coalition building, civic engagement, and mentorship program design. Excellent communication, facilitation, and project management skills. Strong equity lens and commitment to racial and social justice frameworks. Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in student leadership development, equity programs, higher education, or community-based work.

The Asian Pacific Excellence (APEX) Program Analyst supports the implementation, coordination, and strategic development of the Asian Pacific Excellence (APEX) program at Cal State Fullerton. APEX is a culturally responsive, cohort-based student success and leadership initiative designed to support the recruitment, retention, and graduation of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) students, with a strong emphasis on culturally relevant practices in identity development, civic engagement, and coalition building. The APEX Program Analyst will provide administrative support to ensure that this program meets the criteria of the CSU Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Student Achievement Program (ASAP).
In this role, the staff leads all aspects of program planning, student engagement, faculty/staff collaboration, and community partnerships. The APEX Program Analyst works cross-divisionally with Asian Pacific American Resource Center, academic departments, faculty, and student organizations to ensure the delivery of impactful and equity-centered learning experiences. The ideal candidate brings a deep commitment to AANHPI student success, intersectional equity practices, and community-engaged leadership development.
The APEX program is a collaboration with the CSU AANHPI Student Achievement Program (ASAP). The California State University (CSU) Chancellor's Office, in collaboration with the CSU Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Student Achievement Program (CSU ASAP) Central Office, is making funds available to support university ASAP activities. As part of California Assembly Bill 190, annual appropriations of $8 million will be made available to the CSU to operationalize the AANHPI Student Achievement Program across the university system, as outlined in California Education Code 89297.1. Other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university and/or the equivalent training and administrative work experience involving the study, analysis, evaluation, development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices or programs plus four years of related experience. Working knowledge of and the ability to apply standard theories, principles, practices, and techniques applicable to the program and/or administrative specialty to develop conclusions and make recommendations. Thorough knowledge of the policies, procedures, and outside regulations pertaining to the applicable program and/or administrative specialty. Working knowledge of operational and fiscal analysis and techniques. Ability to take initiative and plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved. Skilled in the research, development, and evaluation of policies and programs. Ability to collect, evaluate, and interpret data to develop sound conclusions and make appropriate recommendations. Expertise in investigating and analyzing problems with broad administrative impact and implications. Ability to anticipate problems, address them proactively, and develop appropriate recommendations leading to solutions. Demonstrated ability to effectively interpret, organize, and present information and ideas in written or presentation form and use consultative and facilitation skills to gain consensus. Ability to train others on new skills and procedures and provide lead work direction. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with others.

Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field (e.g., Higher Education, Asian American Studies, Public Policy). Experience with grant-funded programs, institutional reporting, and budget tracking. Familiarity with the CSU system, AANAPISI designation, or Culturally Engaging Campus Environment (CECE) model. Experience working with AANHPI communities and interethnic coalitions. Demonstrated success in managing culturally relevant programs that center AANHPI and/or other marginalized student communities. Experience with coalition building, civic engagement, and mentorship program design. Excellent communication, facilitation, and project management skills. Strong equity lens and commitment to racial and social justice frameworks. Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in student leadership development, equity programs, higher education, or community-based work.
License/Certifications

Duties and Responsibilities
Job Costing & Financial Analysis
* Conduct pre-job costing for GP-calculated jobs, including collaboration with CSSs to develop accurate estimates.
* Perform post-job costing, including data mining across multiple software platforms and presenting findings during post-job debrief meetings.
* Generate monthly and quarterly aggregate GP performance reporting using post-job cost data.
* Submit Job Adjustment Request forms for PPJ-eligible GP-calculated jobs.
Operational Tracking & Reporting
* Update the Operations Tracker on a weekly basis utilizing information from pre-cost analyses and sales data from BI/BizWiz.
* Participate in and support branch recon and job debrief meetings, ensuring accurate documentation and follow-up.
Operational Support & Coordination
* Provide general operational support to the Commercial team, including coordinating crew travel as needed.
* Track and manage receipts for Concur expense submissions to ensure compliance and accurate financial reporting.
Qualifications
