It is the responsibility of the HIM Analyst staff to evaluate chart contents and close them for further processing in a timely manner. Proper performance of the HIM Analyst results in the complete evaluation of a discharged chart in order for Coding processes to begin, generation of revenue for the organization, and proper continuity of patient care. Nature and Scope: This position needs to be knowledgeable of Hospital/Facility bylaws, Federal, State, Joint Commission, and other Regulatory agency requirements in relation to electronic medical record completion. It is integral that the Analysis staff identify and capture all signatures and documentation with the use of the Electronic Health Record to meet these requirements.
