Serve as the principal advisor to the Information System Owner (SO) / Information System Security Manager (ISSM) on all matters, technical and otherwise, involving the security of information systems within the squadron. Essential Job Responsibilities
* Ensure all information systems (IS) are operated, maintained and disposed of IAW directives and the System Security Plan at the squadron.
* Review and coordinate Certification and Accreditation (C&A) packages and System Security Plans (SSPs) for compliance IAW Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide (JSIG).
* Support the squadron's mission by ensuring secure IT systems and maintain accreditation on systems using the Risk Management Framework.
* Ensure all users have the requisite security clearances, authorization, and need-to-know, and are aware of their security responsibilities before granting access to the IS.
* Ensure configuration management (CM) for security-relevant IS software, hardware, and firmware is maintained and documented.
* Conduct audits of all classified and unclassified IS to ensure compliance with established directives.
* Monitor system recovery processes to ensure security features and procedures are properly restored.
* Ensure all IS security-related documentation is current and accessible to properly authorized individuals.
* Support, monitor, test, and troubleshoot hardware and software Information Assurance (IA) and Information Technology (IT) problems pertaining the squadron's computer and network environments.
* Configure and manage enclave network environment IAW customer support policies, procedures, and standards.
* Develop and update local IA related customer support policies, procedures, and standards.
Minimum Qualifications
Education/Certifications: BS in Computer Science or a related field with five (5) years of experience or MS in Computer Science or related scientific/technical field with three (3) years of experience; or equivalent combination of system security operations
Relevant Experience: Five plus (5+) years of experience working in Information System Security.
