Learning and development managers are tasked with giving employees the tools and opportunities to improve their work. Beyond training employees to perform regular tasks well, they prepare staff members for promotions and help them develop their leadership skills.

Taking on the position of learning and development manager, the first thing you will have to do is understand what kind of knowledge or skills are the workers lacking or in which areas their performance is slacking. After doing so, you will set learning goals and come up with efficient training methods.

After delivering your training solutions, you will have to evaluate the progress of your trainees, too. As you will be a teacher of sorts, your presentation style must be crystal clear and engaging. You will need to be familiar with multimedia training platforms, and you have to know where to find material and inspiration to fall back on while creating your training material. All in a day's work, right?
