The Environmental Services (EVS) department is an integral part of TGH and maintains cleanliness for 1.7 million square feet of both direct and indirect patient care. As a member of the Environmental Services Team for the largest Level 1 Trauma Center in the area, team members are a part of the frontline care team helping to heal some of the sickest patients. With over 1,000 licensed beds, TGH EVS Aides complete more than 200,000 room cleans each year. Extensive training is provided to ensure team members can effectively and confidently follow standard procedures in the safe clean-up and disposal of infectious waste while safely using cleaning chemicals in accordance with CDC, the Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
Job Summary
Under the direct supervision of Director and Assistant Director of Environmental Services, the Manager inspects the assigned areas ensuring compliance with the established cleaning standards. Determines cleaning effectiveness by staff and assesses the need for special cleaning. Reports items in need of repair or unsatisfactory condition. Demonstrates ability to interview, hire, schedule, assign work to and evaluate the work performance of employees supervised. Prepares productivity reports, monitors/maintains all work scheduling of Environmental Service Aides and Supervisors. Completes quality control inspections. Completes employee performance evaluations in a timely manner. Linen responsibilities include collecting and interacting with linen process.
