Position Overview:

This position is accountable for providing a high level of customer service while helping customers find the best tires for their vehicles. This position requires a thorough technical understanding of all products and services. This position is also responsible for directing work-order flow and assuring that the shop systems are followed consistently. This position will perform responsibilities in the absence of the store manager and assistant manager and will also be responsible for helping in the development of customer contact personnel.

Job Requirements:

  • Previous customer service experience and sales experience preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
  • Strong computer skills regarding typing, email, internet, and software navigation.
  • Must also be at least 18 years old.

You must have a current valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record. All applicants will be subject to a background check.

Pay: $75000 to $110000 / year (range reflects total earnings between base salary, commissions and bonuses)

Position Function: The Commercial Tire Salesman is directly responsible for profitably growing commercial tire sales within an assigned territory

Accountability & Metrics: This position is responsible for –

  • Meeting pre-defined sales and gross margin objectives through selling all aspects of the Bergey’s Commercial Tire offerings (inventory and service).
  • Demonstrate the ability to discuss and review performance at a higher level on a monthly basis.
  • The ability to develop a complete evaluation of each individual customers operational requirements and provide the customer with a solution-based proposal that focuses on total lifecycle costs (acquisition cost, fuel economy impact, run out based on specific operations).
  • Demonstrate best in class customer responsiveness and develop strong relationships with our customers.
  • Understands at a high level the strengths and weaknesses of the competition (products and dealership attributes).
  • To work closely with all tire manufacturers so as to effectively growing mutually beneficial relationships with Bergey’s OEM partners and maximizing support to win new business profitably
  • Able to work closely with all aspects of Bergey’s Commercial Tire to ensure bringing a united front to the customer (total support team).
  • Continual use of Bergey’s internal CRM system to effectively communicate sales efforts to both Bergey’s management team as well as working peers.
  • Continual use of tire inspection equipment during scheduled Fleet Inspections. Demonstrate ability to assess tire damage, inefficiencies and interface with operations team for service needs.
  • Creates sales opportunities by defining conquest accounts and leveraging Bergey’s Commercial Tire products, services, marketing programs and differentiators to obtain new business.
  • Proactive vs. reactive.
  • Effectively communicate needs, appointments, deliveries and services to the store management team and engage with upper management when necessary.

Qualifications that a candidate must have in order to gain consideration for this position include the following:

  • Preferably 2 or more years of tire sales experience. Will consider 4 or more years of general sales experience
  • Ability to interface professionally with dealership leadership, work peers, suppliers and customers
