Manager, quality engineer job description

In a pivotal role on our quality engineering team, you will be the driving force behind the quality of some of Penumbra's most innovative products. You will provide leadership and drive results in all aspects of product development and manufacturing in order to ensure the highest level of quality in new and existing products, and their compliance to applicable regulations and standards. Your efforts will directly impact the safety of patients around the world who use Penumbra's products. You will apply your passion for detailed analysis for identifying problems and determining the appropriate course of action. You will be looked to for communicating quality objectives and building a culture of quality throughout the company.

What Success Looks Like As a leader, manage the quality engineering functions in support of production to ensure conformance to the Penumbra Quality Management System, FDA QSR, ISO standards, and other regulatory requirements within a multidisciplinary team Direct management of Quality Engineers that support quality inspection and manufacturing of Penumbra products Mentor and develop cross-functional team members with the mentality that their success is your success Provide subject matter expertise with external/internal audits, design of experiments, process validations, statistics, test method validations, measurement system analysis, sterilization validations, new product development, and risk Take the lead on continuous improvement initiatives With your top-notch critical thinking, find ways to make Penumbra's quality system better Ensure product quality associated with our most robust array of product lines With a high level of customer service, provide engineering support to designated production lines Support the vendor management process to maintain strong relationships with suppliers Continually improve technical processes and ensure reliability; implement inspections that meet Penumbra's quality standards Manage the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for assigned product families and functional production areas Assess, develop, evaluate, implement, and maintain process control systems

The Opportunity:

IronNet is seeking a Senior Manager of Quality Engineering, to join our Global SaaS Engineering Team. This role will report to the VP of Platform Engineering and is a key leadership position. Your contributions will play a key part in the delivery of SaaS based solutions used to protect our customers against the threat of cyber attacks. You will be tasked with defining our overall QE principles, technologies, practices, and metrics, across the entire product portfolio. You'll be engaged with and working closely with all other engineering teams. This role will also recruit, grow, and mentor a team of Quality Engineers, who will be embedded with Scrum teams. This is a US remote based position that requires significant overlap with east coast & central time zone based engineers.

You may be the person we need if your background aligns with the following . . .BS/MS in Computer Science or a related technical field8+ years experience working in a Quality Engineering Management role, architecting, developing and launching enterprise-class SaaS & cloud solutions.Deep experience with modern tools used in a mature Quality Engineering practice, including API testing, Browser-based testing, code coverage analysis, Test-Driven Development, and more.Have experience at data-level regression testing, as well as UI-level regression testing. Proven experience leading and inspiring a remotely-distributed engineering team in a start-up environment Deep understanding of how culture and team dynamics create exceptional teams Successful experience building and leading engineering teams, including hiring, development, retention and performance management of individual contributors.

The Growh Initiative, Quality and Regulatory Engineering Manager will play a key role within the Commercial Systems Segment Innovation team. Partners closely with the VP-Innovation, Commercial Systems and Engineering Directors across the segment to drive growth through developing exciting new products. This individual will lead our quality and regulatory engineering teams to ensure the segment is performing successfully.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develop segment research, development and commercialization strategy/plan, roadmap and KPI's for execution
· Manage R&D and commercialization platforms product roadmap and portfolio s
· Facilitate Segment Technical Operating Committee (CS-TOC) operations and Strategy Work Group formation
· Lead Innovation process improvement and implementation
· Support talent development and engineering training development
· Facilitate cross segment R&D, technology and product related communication and collaboration
· Coordinate outreach activities with research institutions, industry associations and external contracts
· Plan and manage Segment R&D budget and capital expenditure
· Lead quality, reliability and regulatory engineering and affairs operations
Qualifications PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will have the following proven experience:
· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field
· 5-10 years of experience in product development, quality, or regulatory engineering with progressive levels of responsibility
· Previous experience establishing processes in a global company preferred
