The Deputy Managing Editor will be tasked with sharpening the work of an already strong seasoned political team and developing the skills of our editing ranks as we work to be even more relevant to more Americans.

While we'd love a newsroom leader who lives in the Washington, D.C., area, we're a nationwide news operation - for the right candidate, we'd consider remote work opportunities. We are on a mission to grow national readership that lives at the junction of politics, policy and American life, and the new Deputy Managing Editor will be a key part of that mission.
About the role

The Hill's Deputy Managing Editorwill improve both our journalism and our connection to audiences. You should be able to balance the art of impactful journalism with the science of analytics. You should be able to demonstrate times you have grown audience or subscriptions using tools and tactics. Top candidates will show they can coach powerful journalism while being pragmatic about reaching new readers and planning growth strategies.
