On September 8, 1922 the organization then bearing the name of “Manasquan River Golf & Country Club” filed its first corporate certificate in the Monmouth County Clerk’s Office in Freehold, New Jersey.
From its inception in 1922 the club flourished and grew in membership and size.
Studer, an NJPGA section champion, seeks to become the first host pro to win since Russell Helwig, Studer’s mentor, did it in 1982 at Essex Fells.
The defending champion is Kevin Foley of Neshanic Valley who won the State Open in 2011 at the Hollywood Golf Club in Deal.
