STARTING DATE: TBD WORK-STUDY/NON-WORK-STUDY/BOTH: BOTH COMPENSATION: $16.00/hour SUMMARY OF POSITION/ RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for assisting the Bookstore Manager with daily or evening operations of the Bookstore, Monday - Friday, part-time, temporary, approximately 19 hours/week. POSITION DESCRIPTION & DETAILS * Provides sales and customer service, which includes greeting customers upon their entry into the Bookstore, selling Bookstore merchandise, clothing, and textbooks. Answers the phone and fields questions, etc. * Maintains good public relations while working with faculty, staff, and customers. * Handles monetary functions, including cash security and use of the point-of-sale system. * Maintains supplies and overall cleanliness for the store (which includes cleaning and upkeep of equipment). * Maintains the cleanliness of retail and book areas. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: * Currently enrolled BSC student. * One year of retail experience. * Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrated positive customer service skills, and the ability to relate to people of varying ages and backgrounds. * Good computer software skills - Microsoft Office Suite, email, and electronic calendar (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). * Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple projects. * Ability to work independently and handle interruptions. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (essential function).
