A post office was soon established on April 11, 1903, with Frederick E. Martin as the first postmaster.
Mannford had a school, grocery store and drug store, but when the train station was built in 1903, the town began to grow at a faster rate.
In 1906 the Mannford State Bank was chartered.
The first federal census for Mannford reported 421 residents in 1930.
In 1958 plans developed for the construction of Keystone Reservoir, which would flood Mannford.

When the Corp of Engineers began making plans for flood control that would flood the town of Mannford, citizens united to form a plan to relocate several miles southeast of the original site which was completed in 1963.
