Haul away non-hazardous wastes to a landfill or other disposal sites. Learn and safely use all equipment used for refining tree debris, including the use of tub grinders, wood chippers, chain saws, and other tree trimming equipment. Use specialized equipment on-site, reduce all waste by chipping or grinding, and prepare it for disposal. Clean up of work area; manual clearing, separating, and removing of debris may be required. Job Summary: The Adelbrook Landscaper performs all duties required to maintain the property, grounds, and vehicles owned or leased in accordance with OSHA safety regulations, agency, licensing, and accrediting agencies' standards. Reports to the Maintenance Manager. This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Duties and Responsibilities: Under supervision and direction of the Maintenance Manager, maintains all agency properties, grounds, and vehicles used for such. This is a full-time, hourly position. Overtime may be offered/mandated. Possesses specific knowledge in most of the following areas: Plants grass, trees, shrubs, and flowers. Installs and maintains water fountains, fences, gates, retaining walls, rock gardens, outdoor lighting and other design features. Digs trenches and levels ground Keeps outdoor furniture clean and in good repair. Applies mulch, fertilizer, herbicides, and pesticides. Maintains green spaces by weeding, trimming, and pruning. Removes unwanted or unhealthy plants, shrubs, and trees, as well as downed limbs. Operates hand tools and power equipment, including mowers, leaf-blowers, snowblowers, tillers, backhoes, and tractors. Maintains and inventory of agency tools. Waters lawns and gardens. Rakes leaves and other vegetation from lawns and flower beds. Removes trash and other debris from outdoor areas. Operates snow removal equipment and shovels walkways. Works with other maintenance crew and constructions specialists as needed. Displays exemplary role modeling at all times, on the job and when in contact with the children being served. Performs other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager Education, Experience, and Other Qualifications: Must be able to follow detailed instructions. Must have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with supervisors, co-workers, clients, and other service providers. Must have the manual dexterity, physical strength and stamina to perform job duties, including lifting up to 50lbs. Must be able to demonstrate exemplary attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Must be a self-motivator and have the ability to work independently. Previous landscaping or groundskeeping experience is required. Must have a valid driver's license. High school diploma is preferred. Key Responsibilities: Walk the property daily to pick up trash, remove debris, and maintain dog waste stations and dumpster areas Perform routine landscaping tasks such as mowing, trimming, and mulching Use hand tools and power equipment (leaf blowers, hedge trimmers, etc.) Remove snow and apply salt to sidewalks and steps during winter weather Keep the maintenance shop organized and stocked Report safety hazards and maintenance concerns to the Service Supervisor Assist with unit “make-ready” tasks as requested Follow company safety procedures and property security protocols Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications: Ability to operate power tools and landscaping equipment Basic knowledge of landscaping techniques and outdoor maintenance Good time management and attention to detail Ability to follow directions and work independently or as part of a team Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent Must be able to lift 50 pounds and work in a physically active role Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and kneeling required Able to work in various weather conditions (heat, cold, snow, rain) Must provide a current phone number and email address Valid driver's license required Use of a vehicle for the entirety of each scheduled shift is mandatory; may be assigned to work at multiple properties Available for emergency response during inclement weather events Benefits Offered: Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Flexible Spending Account (FSA) 401(k) with Company Match Life Insurance Short- and Long-Term Disability Coverage Transportation Allowance Rental Discount Program (more information available at interview)
