We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Associate to join our new and dynamic team in Clarksville, TN as part of the Manufacturing and Production Team!

This position is responsible for assisting the Manufacturing Manager to achieve and maintain high standards of customer satisfaction and delivery by focusing on safety, quality and efficiency while minimizing costs.

Responsibilities:

Understand the key performance indicators that support continued business growth Assist managing and direct all production and quality activity to ensure a safe work environment Work with Manufacturing Managertocreate and execute a culture of continuous improvement Helps the Manufacturing Manager by maintaining and gathering data used to maintain a high level of production Responsible for helping establish and promote a safe working environment



Qualifications:


Experience: Recent graduates may apply! Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field Basic understanding of production equipment and system integration Basic knowledge of manufacturing methods and process improvements Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and evaluate problems Exceptional written and oral communication skills Basic knowledge of manufacturing, including machine capabilities and efficiencies Minimal travel required

Job Purpose
Plan and execute requirements of the Strategic Business Unit and the Cell. The position will be held accountable for cost, delivery, and quality of operations on all equipment as directed by the Cell Leader.

Essential Duties
Plan, execute and report priorities Man-hour estimates React to changing priorities Recordkeeping and reporting Provide general production support for machining and/or assembly area as needed Evaluate upgrades for machining or assembly Troubleshoot issues (quality, efficiency, etc.) on assembly line or machine Serve as communication liaison between engineering, production, marketing, purchasing, etc. and Cell LeaderWork as a team player Provide technical assistance Provide hands-on problem resolutions Report and facilitate correction of out-of-specification conditions Determine the proper processes Create and analyze standards and operation layouts Select and implement proper fixturing and tooling for machining and/or assembly job Perform capital equipment justification as needed Plan and implement preventive and corrective actions for reducing scrap, rework and down time Research and implement new technological ideas to keep the Cell continuously improving Learn and implement process improvements Perform other duties as assigned

Position Requirements
BS degree in engineering or equivalent0 - 1 years manufacturing experience or demonstrated qualification in technical field Good oral and written communication skills Good mechanical aptitude

This includes technical direction, analysis, and project management support for the implementation of manufacturing technologies and quality initiatives at our Springfield Belts plant. Essential Job Duties:

• CAPITAL PROJECTS - assists with implementation for Timken's business growth initiatives and technology upgrades to existing equipment and delivery of total cost-competitive processes. This includes: project support, process design/documentation, asset acceptance/startup/training and creation/tracking of appropriation requisitions (ARs).
• PRODUCT/PROCESS RATIONALIZATION - contributes analysis to support product/process rationalization efforts by performing manufacturing process benchmarking analyses and manufacturing cost comparisons in the plant.
• STANDARDS/PROCEDURES - adheres to and develops plant standards, technical instructions and procedures in order to ensure that all process activities are in alignment with corporate requirements and quality standards.
• PROJECT MANAGEMENT - utilizes appropriate tools/methodologies to plan resources and ensure timely completion.
• CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT - provides technical support for manufacturing CI projects to increase throughput, improve quality/process capability, reduce costs, enhance safety, etc. Technical/Functional Skills Required:
  • Project management skills
  • Mechanical troubleshooting
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to make fact-based recommendations for technical applications
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams. Minimum Requirements:
    • Leadership potential that has been demonstrated in academic or extracurricular activities, or during other employment
    • Achievement in non-academic pursuits such as clubs and organizations, special projects, military service, and prior work experience
    • Ability to learn quickly--is flexible and adaptable
    • Demonstrated effective communication skills
    • Ability to relocate to Springfield, MO Education and/or Experience:
      • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
      • Timken Co-op experience is strongly preferred.
