Position Overview: The Print Operator must be organized, committed, hardworking and persistent with strict attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience working in a sign shop or print production environment, specifically with cutting and installing various substrates. An interest in graphic design and familiarity with printing materials and processes is beneficial. Key Responsibilities: Handles day-to-day print production projects, works on multiple projects simultaneously. Observes proper material handling from start to finish to prevent damage to large format prints or substrates. Performs finishing operations such as installs in house and on site. Accurately prepares substrates for material application, including cutting, painting, laminating, cleaning, and maintaining proper storage of substrates for material application. Ensures proper and strict quality control from start to finish by accurately reading and interpreting work orders, proofing for errors or unacceptable standards (bubbles, ragged edges, loose seams), and inspection for final delivery. Operates various printing machines, maintains proper fit and settings, and feeds material into machines. Reports inventory levels and the stock of various substrates and lamination materials to be reordered to the manager. Unloads and stores all printing materials, cleans, and maintains storage areas, properly stores rigid substrates, and organizes storage racks. Keeps the production area neat, clean, and organized, including sweeping, taking out the trash, and general clean up on a daily basis. Assists in coordinating installs with Fabrication and Operations for tight deadlines and fast turnarounds. Trouble shoots and performs on-site installations professionally and accurately without supervision. Carefully tallies and packages all finished items for delivery or shipping, so they do not get damaged in transit.
