Northrop Grumman, Space Systems, is currently seeking Manufacturing Technicians to join our team. This position will be supporting the Propulsion Systems Division at our Copper Crossing Value Stream (CXVS) facility in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Role description & Responsibilities:
A Manufacturing Technician performs hands on activities/tasks associated with manufacturing of composite rocket cases. Tasks may include but are not limited to Tooling Assembly/Disassembly, Case Surface Preparation, winding composite equipment operation, maintaining cleanliness of the work area and facilities, and other duties as assigned by the supervisor. These candidates must participate as a team member to positively influence and enhance the safety, quality, cost and schedule of their team.
This is a weekday, night shift position. Overtime is worked as necessary.
Requirements:
* Must be willing to perform shift work and overtime, as required. This could include weekends and holidays.
* Must possess a valid state driver's license
* Required to perform safe handling of hazardous waste materials for disposal.
* Possess ability to understand and apply stringent procedures to assigned duties.
* Safe handling of equipment and materials in a manufacturing environment
* Operating industrial equipment such as bridge cranes, forklifts, precision measuring instruments and hand tools.
* Ability to read blueprints.
* Able to monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process control and design specifications.
Skills & Qualifications:
* Able to work a physically demanding day (stand for long periods; work from your knees; ascend and descend ladders; lift, bend, twist push and pull up to 50 lbs.) while wearing protective equipment (respirator, coveralls, gloves, eye and ear protection, etc.).

Basic Qualifications:
This position can be filled at either a level 2 or level 3.
Basic Qualifications for a Level 2:
* High School Diploma or GED
* 2 years of related Composite or Mechanical work experience
* Ability to weigh material for mixing process.
* Ability to work with resins and carbon fiber.
* Ability to work with chemical cleaning process such as an industrial degreaser.
* Ability to work with aluminum oxide cloth.
Basic Qualifications for a Level 3:
* High School Diploma or GED
* 4 years of related Composite or Mechanical work experience
* Ability to start and end helicals and hoops in carbon winding process, following planning requirements.
* Able to continuously monitor machinery to ensure winding is completed according to established planning and procedures.

Primary Level Salary Range: $43,100.00 - $71,900.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $51,200.00 - $85,400.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Deflashing
Grinding, sanding, cutting, boring, and painting composite parts tubes to specified dimensions
Slitting, drilling and other miscellaneous finish work using fixtures
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of hands-on manufacturing experience required; experience with composites preferred.
Backgrounds in wood, metal, auto body, or other work requiring strong hand coordination are also highly valued.
Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions and engineering prints.
Ability to use calipers, micrometers and tape measures to verify part dimensions and accuracy
Ability to work without direct supervision to established manufacturing times

JOB DETAILS Base Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour Night Shift DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Knows and understands all safety rules and precautions necessary for working in and about a manufacturing environment. Ability to set-up and operate designated machinery and equipment
Ability to operate computerized equipment and material handling equipment.
Perform routine preventive maintenance, adjustments and lubrication on equipment and production tools as required to maintain proper operation.
Mark part number, order number, number of pieces on parts. Attach identification tags as required for customer to have the ability to locate correct parts.
Interpret technical data and select correct raw material or semi-finished parts.
Maintains continuous improvement practices in work area.
May be assigned other projects and duties as designated by Team Leader.
Qualifications

Flexible with either working day or night shifts and weekends if needed

Production Operator II
Manufacturing associate job in Salt Lake City, UT
This role will be responsible for operating and maintaining machinery involved in the production of aluminum cans while adhering to safety, quality, and production standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate and monitor equipment such as can forming machines, presses, trimmers, liners, and other machinery involved in the can making process.
Inspect finished cans for defects, ensure proper dimensions, and perform quality checks to maintain product quality standards.
Handle raw materials required for can production. Load materials onto machines and monitor material supply throughout the production process.
Set up machines according to production requirements, adjust settings as needed, and troubleshoot equipment issues to minimize downtime.
Assist maintenance technicians in performing routine maintenance tasks, cleaning equipment, and conducting minor repairs as needed.
Optimize machine performance, minimize waste, and maximize production output while maintaining quality and efficiency standards.
Adhere to safety protocols, use personal protective equipment (PPE), and follow safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and team members.
Maintain production records, log equipment downtime, report quality issues, and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
Maintain 5S principles and ensure optimal area cleanliness and housekeeping standards are consistently met to uphold a safe and organized work environment.
Complete daily housekeeping assignments to maintain a clean and organized work environment, contributing to continuous safety and quality improvement efforts.
