Reporting to the Packaging Lead, this hybrid role combines production support with basic maintenance tasks, helping to optimize efficiency, minimize downtime, and maintain our high standards of safety and quality. What You'll Do Operate and Monitor Equipment: Operate high-speed packaging and production equipment, ensuring production targets are met. Perform equipment setups, changeovers, and basic adjustments to maintain operational efficiency. Troubleshoot and Maintain Equipment: Diagnose and resolve minor mechanical issues, escalating complex problems to the Maintenance Technician or Maintenance Team. Conduct routine inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and basic repairs to ensure equipment reliability. Assist with preventive maintenance tasks to reduce downtime and extend equipment life. Collaborate and Communicate: Work closely with the Packaging Lead and maintenance team to address equipment performance challenges. Provide feedback on operational issues and suggest improvements to optimize workflows. Ensure Safety and Compliance: Adhere to OSHA, GMP, SQF, and HACCP standards to maintain a safe and compliant work environment. Participate in safety initiatives and report potential hazards. Track and Report: Log downtime, repairs, and performance metrics using CMMS systems. Accurately report production throughput, material usage, and waste generation. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Maximized Equipment Uptime: Ensure high-speed equipment operates efficiently with minimal downtime. Production Efficiency: Consistently meet or exceed production targets while minimizing waste. Safety and Food Safety Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to safety and food safety standards. Operational Reliability: Proactively address equipment issues and support process improvements. What We're Looking For: 1-2 years in a manufacturing environment, preferably in high-speed packaging Proficiency in English both written and oral communication Ability to perform minor mechanical repairs and adjustments. Strong attention to detail, ability to perform root cause analyses, and commitment to driving efficiency and reliability. Familiarity with high-speed equipment and basic maintenance tools Proficiency with CMMS (EAM) and production reporting tools is a plus. Your Opportunity The Manufacturing & Assembly Technician will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the manufacturing facility. Participates in a variety of technical manufacturing & assembly work involving Safety, Quality, & Engineering projects. The Manufacturing Technician will perform work that includes tasks related to production, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. The successful candidate will ensure that all operations are conducted in accordance with safety regulations and policies. The Manufacturing Technician works in close collaboration with the other members of the manufacturing team to ensure a consistently high level of Safety, Quality and Productivity. Key Responsibilities (Include but not limited to): Ensure compliance with safety regulations and policies. Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production machinery and equipment. Monitor and adjust machinery and equipment to maintain quality & productivity standards. Maintains Preventative Maintenance Program with regular inspections of machinery and equipment to identify and address potential problems. Monitor and replenish inventory of parts and supplies for equipment and tools for the Assembly Department. Provide technical support to the Assembly Department, i.e., supervisors, leads, and assemblers in equipment malfunctions, machine & equipment operation, and medical device scrap and rework issues. Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery. Leads and assists in mechanical support with and for the Engineering & Quality Assurance teams. Assists the assembly department with compressed gas tank handling and startup processes. Identify, evaluate, diagnose, repair and test medical devices utilizing customer reported problems and other fault information. Cross referencing these faults with standard operating procedures (SOP), and service manuals. Utilize good documentation practices GDP, and good manufacturing practices GMP to document findings and results. Utilizes knowledge gained from repairing products to research, develop, and implement product improvements to reduce failure rates. Leverage knowledge of company's ERP System to assist in verifying Bills of Materials and of drawings. Solve key technical challenges and assist in implementing their solutions. Coordinate and manage external machine builders and suppliers to build necessary equipment and fixtures. Repairing: Identify the type of device that requires service and understand the normal operational parameters. Identify any deviations from the device's normal operating parameters. Attempt to troubleshoot the device to identify which component or sub-assembly is not functioning correctly and replace. If the cause of the failure cannot be identified, work with Engineering to determine the issue. Documentation: Record all actions taken during maintenance & repair processes in correct locations (e.g., document management systems, forms, shared databases, etc.). Ability to perform equipment assessments while also managing the asset database, maintenance, and maintenance logs for all fixtures and equipment. Maintain good organization during documentation process. Review paperwork associated with equipment and or device repairs for technical accuracy. Data collection and categorization for trending and metrics analysis. Other duties: Knowledgeable in the safe handling, storage, and operation of compressed gas tanks. Support Building Maintenance when needed. Other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor. Requirements: 2 - 3 years' experience Technical aptitude and work prefer experience troubleshooting and repairing medical devices. Working knowledge of basic electromechanical systems is essential as well as basic data entry into electronic forms. Bachelors' Degree preferred, associate's degree in a technical discipline required Language: English Knowledge of hand tools, machinery and electrical test equipment. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, BOM, manufacturing/repair instructions and test specifications. Knowledge of current regulatory requirements related to repair and documentation of medical devices. Ability to maintain accurate records of repairs, calibrations and test results. Excellent writing and communication skills. Capable of documenting technical data, diagnosis, troubleshooting procedures, and root cause investigation results in writing. Must possess good interpersonal skills and be able to work in team environment.
