About the Role
TPI is looking for experienced production manufacturingassociates to join the team at our composite wind blade manufacturing plant in Newton, Iowa. Our ManufacturingAssociates are responsible for safely producing quality products that meet delivery and cost expectations in a high-performing manufacturing plant.
Essential Functions
Cutting fiberglass cloth to size, following template or blueprints, using cutting machines, scissors, or knives.
Applying layers of fiberglass cloth onto mold or fixture in predetermined ply sequence, and presses cloth to fit contours on mold, smooth surface, and remove air pockets and excess resin using squeegee, scraper, or spatula.
Encasing molded laminate in bagging material and bleeder cloth, attaches vacuum bagging apparatus.
Dispensing, handling, and applying composite resins and adhesives.
Trimming, drilling, grinding, sanding, and finishing cured parts to specifications, using templates, fixtures, tools, and power tools.
Pre-fitting and assembling cured parts into assemblies or subassemblies, using jigs, fixtures, power tools, and fasteners, such as rivets and bolts.
Following all safety practices and procedures.
Safely performing tasks such as applying bondo and paint, operating palm sander and other basic hand tools, handling chemicals (resin, paste, acetone), laying fiberglass and balsa core, operating cranes, etc.

The Production Operations Technician will coordinate parts, assembly, testing, painting, packaging, and shipping of company products. This role involves performing a variety of manufacturing tasks including assembling, operating manual and automatic equipment, setting up machines, testing, and dismantling unit assemblies and complex subassembly work stations according to appropriate work process instructions.
**Responsibilities**
+ Coordinate parts, assembly, test, paint, package, and shipping of company products.
+ Perform a variety of manufacturing tasks including assembling, operating equipment, setting up machines, testing, and dismantling unit assemblies.
+ Rotate among all stations within each assembly cell, performing repetitive work at a consistent pace to meet customer demands.
+ Repair final unit assemblies and complex subassemblies using power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, drills, and torque guns.
**Essential Skills**
+ 6 months prior production experience.
+ 6 months in an assembly-based position.
+ Ability to read, write, and understand instructions.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Knowledge of production, assembly, automotive, and manufacturing processes.

**Work Environment**

The dress code includes steel-toed boots, jeans, a t-shirt, and gloves as many products contain oil for lubrication.Manufacturing

**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.70/hr.
