About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Quality Oversight Engineer with expertise in Mechanical, Electrical, and/or Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineering to support the construction of a large, state-of-the-art semiconductor manufacturing facility in Boise, Idaho.
This role is embedded onsite with an AEC firm and is focused on ensuring that critical building and process support systems are installed, tested, and turned over in accordance with design intent, specifications, codes, and project quality standards. The ideal candidate brings deep field experience, strong technical judgment, and a proactive approach to quality and constructability.
Key Responsibilities
Provide senior-level technical and quality oversight for Mechanical, Electrical, and/or I&C scopes during construction and installation
Verify installations align with approved drawings, specifications, and project quality requirements
Perform field inspections, system walkdowns, and quality audits across assigned systems
Review contractor work for compliance with engineering standards and best practices
Identify, document, and drive resolution of quality issues, deficiencies, and non-conformances
Support constructability reviews and sequencing discussions to reduce rework
Review RFIs, submittals, and field change requests from a quality and technical perspective
Coordinate closely with construction management, design engineering, and commissioning teams
Support system completion, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and turnover activities
Promote a strong culture of quality, safety, and accountability on the jobsite
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, I&C Engineering, or related technical discipline (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of experience on large industrial, high-tech, or advanced manufacturing construction projects
Demonstrated experience providing field-based quality oversight or engineering support
Strong working knowledge of:
Mechanical systems (process piping, HVAC, exhaust, chilled water, clean utilities)
Electrical systems (power distribution, substations, UPS, generators)
Instrumentation & Controls systems (PLC, SCADA, BMS, EMS)
Solid understanding of construction means and methods, installation sequencing, and commissioning workflows
Comfortable working in an onsite, fast-paced construction environment
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage contractors, engineers, and project leadership
