Summary:

Research and document requirements on aerial construction by pole owner or customer for whom the work is being performed.
Act as a Subject Matter Expert for Pole Loading Design and Analysis, both internally and externally to CCI's customers.
Determine Right of Way (ROW) locations.
Determine the correct customer template to be used in the creation of construction and permitting drawings.
Complete ROW permitting and submittal as needed on behalf of the facility owner.
Confirm all deliverable documents are complete at project handoff with minimal direction.
Meet with Project Designers to review project data and the ability to input that data into OCALC or similar software.

Qualifications we are looking for
3 years' relevant electric utility distribution design experience required.
Proficient with pole loading analysis software (e.g., O-Calc Pro, Katapult, PoleForeman, Spidacalc, PLS-Pole) required.
Complete the design of OSP projects, aerial, buried, and underground using AutoCAD, Adobe, GIS, and Excel with minimal direction.
Experience with utility engineering, Communications, Power Distribution, and Gas.
Experience in the Utility industry, permit completion and coordination.
Basic understanding of utility design, engineering concepts, and design tools.

This internship is the Summer 2026.
The Process Engineer Intern at Cornerstone Building Brands is responsible for learning and subsequently implementing the Cornerstone Production System methodology on multiple production lines and throughout different systems and processes. Develops all necessary processes and audit documentation (i.e. Visual Work Instructions, Standard Work Combination Table, Process Control Adherence Audit, 5S,etc.)
Assesses existing processes for areas of improvement utilizing Lean Manufacturing concepts (Kaizen, TPM, Value Stream Mapping, etc.) Six Sigma, designed experiment techniques, capability studies, etc.
Designs and/or sources equipment for manufacturing processes; evaluates and recommends implementation of competitive technology.
Leads, where applicable, or works in conjunction with plant maintenance to ensure that the facility and equipment are maintained and updated consistent with short- and long-term goals and objectives.
Provides training, as required, to associates.
Leads, where applicable, or works in conjunction with Quality Assurance, to monitor and document quality standards.
Develop dashboards and reports for leadership to track key performance indicators (KPIs)

ABOUT THE ROLE
This internship is the Summer 2026.
The Process Engineer Intern at Cornerstone Building Brands is responsible for learning and subsequently implementing the Cornerstone Production System methodology on multiple production lines and throughout different systems and processes. Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, this role will be on-site in Fort Myers, FL and will work closely with the Operations team.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
* Designs the ability to produce a quality product into the process.
* Identify and analyze manufacturing problems to control and improve manufacturing
* Develops all necessary processes and audit documentation (i.e. Visual Work Instructions, Standard Work Combination Table, Process Control Adherence Audit, 5S,etc.)
* Assesses existing processes for areas of improvement utilizing Lean Manufacturing concepts (Kaizen, TPM, Value Stream Mapping, etc.) Six Sigma, designed experiment techniques, capability studies, etc.
* Designs and/or sources equipment for manufacturing processes; evaluates and recommends implementation of competitive technology.
* Leads, where applicable, or works in conjunction with plant maintenance to ensure that the facility and equipment are maintained and updated consistent with short- and long-term goals and objectives.
* Provides training, as required, to associates.
* Leads, where applicable, or works in conjunction with Quality Assurance, to monitor and document quality standards.
* Develop dashboards and reports for leadership to track key performance indicators (KPIs)
* Presents capstone project as directed at the conclusion of the internship program.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Summary
The Project Engineer supports field activities and spends a majority of time working with the Project Manager supporting project administration on multiple small projects, or one medium to large-size projects. Activities include managing the job transition process; and supporting the management of cost and schedule, constructability, technical evaluations, quality, safety, work planning, procurement, contract management, regulatory compliance, etc.
Roles and Responsibilities
The Project Engineer will possess competency in the following areas in order to perform his/her role in a safe, productive, and effective manner.
