SUMMARY: Manages the engineering and drafting department activities and performs the following duties.

Provides approval for deviations from build documentation on the production floor (drawings, schematics, BOE's).
New product design or redesigns from prototype to first production run units.
Ensure access tables for product lines are maintained as needed.
Analyze test data to determine if system design or component meets performance specifications.
Support purchasing in the evaluation and selection of new components, component upgrade and substitutions.
Gather/research all information required for the generation of new parts (#s) for purchasing department including entering & maintaining part master information.
Technical support to the sales department for RFQ's (request for quotations) this includes research of specialty features, layouts and pricing so that system can be quoted.
Provide technical support to customers and representatives with appropriate documentation
Develop new products via feedback from customers, reps, and sales & marketing department which includes the overseeing of prototype and production systems.
Oversee and conduct product competitive analyses as requested.
Develop annual goals and objectives for the department.
Ensure approval drawings are provided correctly in an appropriate timeframe when required. Ensure the submittal drawing process works as intended to allow customer review.
Ensure Engineering processes are developed, documented, and followed in the department.
Provide and document training and development plans for the Engineering department to ensure there is an effective training and development process for the department.
Responsible for complying with the company's Environmental Policy Manual, applicable work instructions and reporting any environmental nonconformance and/or potential nonconformance to supervision or management
Insures all related ISO900 documentation is accurate and being followed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. SUMMARY: Implements the company Quality Management System (QMS) and Quality Policy in support of internal and external customer requirements. Performs inspections and determines acceptability of product. Collects and analyzes data and maintains accurate company records by performing the following duties.

Required Experience:
Previous Quality Engineer experience in a manufacturing setting
ISO 9001:2015 experience/internal auditor certification and audit experience
Document Control, Procedure/SOP/Work Instruction generation and training experience
Customer complaints, Nonconformances, CAPA experience
· Complies with the QMS, applicable Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions, and reports any nonconformance or potential nonconformance to supervision or management.
· Maintains quality objectives and coordinates with Production management to maximize product conformance and reliability.
· Serves as the alternate Quality Representative for the quality system.
· Writes, revises, and checks documents and reports related to the QMS.
· Assists in preparing for external audits of the QMS.
· Prepares for and conducts internal audits of the QMS.
· Assists in the development of departmental policies and procedures.
· Interfaces with customers and external suppliers when required.
· Assists in responding to customer complaints and corrective action requests.
· Assists in responding to customer questionnaires relating to the QMS.
· Assists in performing supplier quality functions such as on-site audits, supplier performance appraisals, receiving inspection, etc.
· Performs inspection of purchased components and assemblies, and documents results.
· Communicates nonconformances of purchased material, and requests for corrective action, to external suppliers.
· Maintains applicable logs such as the Discrepant Material and Corrective and Preventive Action logs.
· Performs in-process and final inspections of Mokon units and documents results.
· Root cause problem-solving/CAPA
· Collects and analyzes data in support of company and departmental goals and objectives.
· Participates in various projects and meetings to act as a representative of the Quality department.
· Communicates relevant quality information to all company employees.
· Works with Sales and Engineering to confirm drawings and product designs are accurate.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES: ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor certification.
AQS certification is a plus
Six Sigma Green Belt certification is a plus
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 2-4 years related experience and/or training, or a two or four-year technical college degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

What sets you apart:
You have earned, as a minimum, a Bachelor's Degree in an engineering or related technical field. Preferably, you may also have a Master's Degree or a Doctorate.
You are technically seen as a subject matter expert, a recognition you have earned through 7+ years of progressive engineering and/or technically focused roles and experiences.
Candidates who do not meet the education requirement may be considered with 15+ years of relevant experience.
