Job Description: The Quality Assurance Engineer assists the QC Supervisor, Program Managers, Design Engineers and Manufacturing Engineers in the introduction and sustaining of products in production. POSITION SUMMARY: With direct supervision, provide manufacturing engineering support for new and existing production in terms of manufacturing and testing equipment, equipment controls, handling and mold tooling, HSE, materials and process needs. Products include compression and injected molded rubber components for shock and vibration isolation mounts, laminated elastomer bearings, industrial clutch and brakes, and elastomeric seals. Requires coordination with operations, design engineering, quality and project management. Some interface with tooling and equipment vendors may be required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Develop a working knowledge for each assigned project * Manufacturing processes and associated documents that support these processes including manufacturing specifications, shop travelers and manufacturing inspection planning * CAD software and tooling design codes * GD&T principles * Drawing formats and procedures * Manufacturing and Testing equipment * HSE requirements as applies to safety of equipment and processes * Review design bases and reports, test plans, material specifications and any other necessary technical documents * Equipment control systems * Polymer material properties in terms of molding and processing * Take initiative and recommend process and/or material improvements * Assist with Material Review Board activities * Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: * Bachelor or Masters in Mechanical Engineering or related degree with at least 0-2 years of direct experience; or at least 6 years of direct experience without a degree * Basic knowledge or some experience using SolidWorks 3D CAD and AutoCAD 2d CAD a plus * Basic knowledge of polymer molding processes a plus * Effective organizational skills * Work independently and handle multiple tasks. * Exhibit effective written and oral communication * Effective interpersonal skills PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: * Use of a computer, including a telephone and other office equipment * Prolonged sitting and standing * Moderate bending, stooping, walking, climbing stairs. * Some limited lifting * Some climbing, elevated work. * Must be able to work in high and/or low temperature production environments for extended periods CITIZENSHIP REQUIREMENTS - By contractual requirements, the project and job location for this position requires that all persons establish proof of US Citizenship.
