This Application Engineer will report to the Application Engineering Manager and provide timely technical support, application expertise, solutions to customers, sales team, manufacturing and marketing team on product troubleshooting, new application, design assistance, modifications, etc. S/He will evaluate customer specifications to develop a feasible solution to all stakeholders. Responsibilities:
Report to the Engineering Manager and support customers, sales engineers, product manager, and marketing team on product applications, new application, design assistance, modifications, and other technical support on engineered products.
Based on customer inquiries to provide technical support and application expertise; research customer requirement and pre-estimate for safety, materials and technical resource, provide technical approval for quoting process, support proposal process.
Provide detailed technical support (remote and onsite) to customers on product applications, troubleshooting for malfunctions, quality issues, product failure, provide remote and onsite training to customers as needed.
Support R&D on new product development, new application development, rapid prototyping and testing, ensure new application manufacturability.
Support manufacturing on process development, manufacturing progress, feasibility, reliability, troubleshoot issues concerning manufacturing process and recommend modification on application, design, keep customers and stakeholders informed regarding engineering change request, design change, application modification, etc.
Support procurement on BOM, supplier qualification on materials, etc.
Promote marketing by providing product technical literature, support preparation and marketing effort for trade shows, product categories, 3rd party marketing firms, and other marketing initiatives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Recent years of work experience as a Project Engineer, Application Engineer, Sales Support Engineer or related roles within Industrial manufacturing industry, exposure to rapid contract manufacturing process is a plus.
Solid mechanical aptitude
Proficient in Solidwork and AutoCAD for 3D and 2D modeling.
Excellent communication and customer service skills, able to translate engineering issues, bottlenecks and constrains to non-engineering customers.
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, outside of box thinker and able to foresee various scenarios to reduce engineering risks.
Able to pass drug screen, background check and employment verification.

2. In addition to preparing Requisitions, duties include technical evaluation of bids, review and approval of vendor drawings and documents, coordination with other project engineering disciplines, performing inspections as needed.
3. Participates in developing new products.
4. Ability and willingness to assume full responsibility in support of a project, product line or equipment component, insure customer compliance, and develop company standards which combine robust and effective technical performance with economic competitiveness.
