    The candidate will be responsible for the design of mechanical, plumbing and utility systems for industrial food processing facilities. The primary applications include steam, compressed air, chilled water, hot water, domestic water, HVAC/Refrigeration, natural gas, plumbing and other process-related systems. Required skills include HVAC heat load calculations (knowledge of HVAC load calculation software) and diversities, industrial ventilation design, equipment specification, selections and alternatives, controls and sequencing of operations, pressurization and hygienic zoning, knowledge of current industry refrigerant regulations, etc. It is assumed the candidate can design such systems with limited direction, can mentor others, and be capable of supervising the work of other engineers and designers while serving as the lead engineer on any given project. The candidate must have a working knowledge of the International Mechanical Code, International Energy Code, International Plumbing Code, International Fuel Gas Code, ASHRAE Standards, LEED, specification writing, etc. The candidate will be responsible for man-hour estimating, conceptual development, detailed design, calculations, construction level documents, written specifications, responding to RFIs, shop drawings and submittal review, site inspection visits, and oversight of Revit production resources and record drawings. The role at times may require independent work or the need to manage team members assigned to their projects, while ensuring project requirements, schedule, and overall document quality are met. Inter-discipline coordination, BIM clash detection, shop drawing review, and site inspections will be required. The candidate must be a team player and committed to the quality of work generated. - A minimum of 15 years of mechanical, plumbing and utility systems design experience. - Revit MEP experience highly preferred. - A Professional Engineering license, in good standing, is required in a minimum of (1) one state. NCEES registration is preferred. - 10% travel required. - Additional tenure/experience may warrant advanced title/compensation. - Preference will be given to candidates willing to relocate to our Jacksonville HQ, or to one of our regional office locations, which include Stevens Point, WI, and Boulder, CO.

We are hiring a Process Improvement Specialist to be based in Jacksonville, FL. What You'll Do: Visit Plants. Prioritize, coordinate, and participate in plant process and improvement reviews. Work with the plant managers and area managers monthly to check goal progress, review plant KPIs and cost performance, develop short-term improvement actions, and follow up on projects. Collaborate. Effectively engage with other support functions (Central Services, Procurement, Finance, Mining and Geology, etc.) to ensure an overall coordinated approach on projects, engineering, and/or management of outside resources for projects. Participate in Production Planning. Set production targets (production and cost) for each plant segment. Assist local management with understanding possible growth areas and how those changes will impact the bottom. Define Key Performance Metrics. Define key metrics and ensure standardization in data collection. Drive a clear and transparent view of operational success. Ensure Compliance and Proper Training. Ensure assigned plants comply with company policies, practices, and standards, including ARC Flash, Electrical Upgrades, and Automation Upgrades. Ensure all employees understand the tools and resources that are available to help them manage their business, including knowledge of system capabilities for pulling historical information. Maintain Relationships. Maintain relationships with the general managers, area managers, and plant managers in your assigned plants. Work with them to define, develop, share, and drive implementation of agreed-upon best practices. Champion Continuous Improvement. Collect and organize information to identify process improvement opportunities through plant site visits and plant process reviews. Utilize innovation and historical information to make high-quality, informed decisions. Conduct process engineering of "everyday" type projects (conveyor install, pit moves, etc.) to include control system automation. Additional Responsibilities. Other duties as assigned. Skills You'll Need: Education. Bachelor's degree is preferred. Experience. Must have five years of engineering experience in a heavy industrial, civil/mechanical engineering, or mining environment. Must have experience with aggregate facilities engineering. Industrial experience is preferred. Interpersonal Skills. Must have the ability to effectively influence change. Must have the ability to effectively maintain relationships with key internal and external customers. Project Management Skills. Must have the ability to lead safe and timely completion of projects at or below budget. Must have the ability to control scope to avoid cost creep or expansion. Mentoring Skills.
