The Product Engineer II for Cytiva is responsible for supporting the Cytiva Biotech Product Engineering group in the technical aspects of Cassette Product Life Cycle Management (PLCM), consisting of New Product Introduction (NPI), Sustainment and Process/Product improvements as required.
This position reports to the Sr Manager of Product Engineering and is part of the Product Engineering Group located in Hauppauge NY and will be an on-site role.
What you will do:
Introduce new Filtration products by coordinating with R&D, Marketing and Manufacturing in accordance with the Stage Gate Process or Redevelopment of existing products post launch based on volume or other needs.
Facilitate critical raw material changes while maintaining product quality & customer supply, internally & externally.
Responsible for managing product changes at resident site to the current portfolio & support products through their lifecycle
Manage and execute local manufacturing process transfers or capacity expansions in line with Cytiva procedures.
Solve problems by using 6 sigma tools, trend analysis, Design of Experiments, FMEA, process risk assessments etc.
Who you are:
Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience and minimum 3 yrs relevant experience.
Minimum 2 years Validation experience - Medical device or Bio-Pharmaceutical Industry preferred
Knowledge of process validation procedures and techniques, such as IQ, OQ & PQ, process and product FMEA, Value Stream Mapping, Ishikawa diagrams, Pareto analysis, parts and process capability studies.
Ability to generate validation documents (Protocols and Reports) for new products, processes and equipment, and Engineering Studies summarizing continuous improvement projects.
Ability to analyze complex data and solve problems via Quality Analyst, Minitab or other analytical software
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Any formal training and qualification in Six Sigma techniques
A process/product development, New Product Introduction (NPI), process optimization or problem-solving environment

During the operational phase, you will be the System Owner/SME of a high-speed filling line, optimizing equipment uptime and process robustness as we continue to transfer products currently produced by contract manufacturing sites, fulfilling Client's mission to “Do what's in the best interest of patients.”
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
· Support the execution of the Commissioning, Qualification, and Validation activities for our new Vial Filling system (e.g., washing/depyrogenation, aseptic filling, isolator/VPHP, glove integrity testers, environmental monitoring systems), including SAT, IQ/OQ, PQ, and Aseptic Process Simulation.
· Management of Equipment Vendors, including project execution, on-site maintenance and calibration visits, vendor-supplied training of operation and maintenance staff, management of continuous improvement projects, and spare parts criticality assessments.

Field work performed by high/driving in varied terrain and weather will be required, including but not limited to, surveys/data gathering, CQA liner installations, inspections, etc.
Office based tasks including but not limited to: CAD drafting, mathematical calculations, report writing, creating site plans and facility diagrams, permit applications, etc.
Business development including but not limited to: proposal preparation, meeting with clients, and attending industry related conferences/trade shows.
Receives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans or projects.
Qualifications
Virginia P.E (preferably civil) registration required or ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months.
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering required.
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience such as working knowledge and demonstrated consulting experience, business specific to the solid waste industry, including landfill gas management, air compliance, and landfill design and permitting, etc. required.
Competent with using MS Office and other computer software normally used in environmental consulting. Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D design software is a plus.
Valid driver's license with a driving record in good standing required.

Responsible for the ownership of staffing, material and equipment demands in the Resource Planning Guides for Operations. Manages the flow, standardization, data type and collection methods of operating information into the reporting tool, while supporting the Managing Operating System (MOS). Serves as liaison from Operations to IT for maintenance, upgrades, development and implementation for operational reporting tool.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop, implement, standardize and own motion/time studies, methodologies, and documentation to feed resource planning reports.
Develop seamless information flow from the shop floor to the LINCS reporting tool focusing on the clear, concise and true depiction of raw information to feed operating metrics.
Develop shop floor metrics to clearly depict where bottlenecks, cost, inefficiencies and opportunities exist, and make recommendations for improvement.
Utilize plant metrics to identify processes/procedures that can be improved to promote cost efficiency.
Actively promote and participate in the continuous improvement program, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma process.
Generate staffing, material and equipment standards to support new product introductions and properly evaluate cost/ROI.
Provide training to supervisors and above, as required, in support of the LINCS system and overall MOS systems.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, business or related field.
5 years of manufacturing motion and time study experience.
Exposure to Six Sigma and other continuous improvement tools.
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Demonstrated successful ability to build positive partnerships and work collaboratively with cross-functional business teams.
