Position Summary:
The Senior Design Engineer is responsible for developing new magnetics related components based on customer or marketing inputs. Mentoring and Design Review: Coach junior engineers in solving design issues. Responsible for project management of Design Reviews.

Engineering Analysis: Perform calculations to support CapEx return on investment decisions.

POSITION SUMMARY
Applying engineering and chemistry techniques in the improvement of quality and manufacturing processes and products and in the transition of new products and processes from R&D to production. Assist in equipment and processes design to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and to promote safety, quality and reliability. Assess current equipment methods and processes and makes recommendations for changes. Troubleshoot and repair equipment and processes. Shows results in reports. Applies themselves in laboratory setting as needed follows good GMP. May train personnel in equipment and method usage and processes. Performs work under minimal supervision.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Process Lab and New Product Development Support (50%)
Assist NPD projects as assigned and in compliance with Procedures, Programs, and Policies.
Assist with developing and executing Design of Experiments for pilot plant scale-up and production scale-up.
Analyze Design of Experiment data identifying results compared to expectations and opportunities for improvement.
Data Analysis / Technical Management (20%)
Analyze product/process data identifying opportunities for improvement and cost reduction.

Analyze the production requirements of products and ensure JDE1 data are correct.
Ensure all operations and processes comply with ISO/QMS requirements.

Plant Support (20%):
Assist in identifying, developing and implementing process improvement initiatives which reduce waste and non-value-added activities.
Plan, develop and implement quality and manufacturing process changes that yield improved Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE); production efficiencies, yields and rates.
Provide support on any production/product/quality issues as required.

Lead/direct the installation and start-up of new processes and equipment.

Pilot Plant Support (10%)
Operates and ensures pilot plant machines/production equipment is prepared for operation and installed following protocols and procedures and performs regular technical testing to ensure their safety and efficiency and ensures are functioning to specifications.
Executes required lab testing for experiments completed in the pilot plant.
