Description: Job Description: Mechanical Design Engineer I We are seeking a motivated Mechanical Design Engineer I to join our engineering team in Roanoke, Virginia. This entry-level role is essential to support the Commercial, Manufacturing, and Field Service teams with designs for fixed and mobile equipment used in the civil explosives industry. The successful candidate will be involved in the entire product lifecycle - from concept development with the Commercial team to providing end-user support alongside our Field Service team. Designs major components or major portions of a functional system to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. Utilizes CAD software to develop basic designs and make preliminary layouts, sketches and notes necessary to present design proposals. Investigates and makes decisions regarding pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replaceability, strength-weight efficiency, contractual specification requirements and cost.
