Utilizing packaging machinery and automation platforms and modules, the Mechanical Engineer, in conjunction with the Electrical and Controls Engineers, will execute project and platform design evolution and execution, enabling the manufacturing of in-house packaging machinery and automation. Co-located with electrical and controls engineers, packaging designers, and materials scientists, this role will execute design duties to ensure that packaging machinery and supporting automation are simple, effective, and deliver lower total cost while enabling more sustainable packaging, streamlined supply chains, and lower total cost of ownership.
Key job responsibilities:
Collaborate with cross-functional engineers to design and execute packaging machinery and automation projects.
Execute the mechanical design workstreams encompassing core module evolution, structural member design including the modular frame, safety/guarding, and incorporation of ancillary systems at the project/platform level while ensuring technical, cost, and timeline objectives are achieved.
Deliver engineering workstreams including drive system modeling, load and bearing calculations, static and dynamic torque simulations and analysis, 3D and 2D model design including the mechanical BOM generation.
Execute the detailed design evolution of modules and subsystems for material specifications, geographic requirements, and continuous improvement goals aligned with platform and project level initiatives.
Partner with the Electrical Engineering team to ensure project documentation is complete and scalable for electrical schematics, BOM, I/O's, and subsystem programs.
Support the project team in the safety certification of the project/platform (CE, UL, CSA, TUV, etc.).

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Technician or Junior Engineer to operate and support a cutting-edge robotic prototype. This role is critical to advancing technology that has the potential to greatly impact fulfillment. The ideal candidate will be independent, motivated, and comfortable working with evolving prototype systems.
Responsibilities
+ Operate and support a cutting-edge robotic prototype.
+ Work with minimal oversight and take initiative in problem-solving.
+ Capture data and log information in prescribed systems accurately.
+ Work with command line interfaces and troubleshoot mechanical/electrical hardware.
+ Coordinate with remote technical teams effectively.
Essential Skills
+ Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and robotic systems.
+ Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
+ Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and measurement instruments.
+ Experience with command line interfaces or willingness to learn quickly.
+ Computer literacy including data entry and basic software applications.
+ Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
+ Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
+ Ability to follow written and verbal instructions precisely.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $40.20/hr.
