Job Description
Responsible for the safe and efficient handling of materials in accordance with all Company policies and standards of operation. The General labor position requires physical stamina, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
This position is outside.
Compensation:
$17 - $18 hourly
Responsibilities:
A Laborer is responsible for safely and efficiently performing general labor duties at a hauling company, transfer station, recycling center, or landfill. Responsibilities may include such things as yard clean-up, fueling vehicles and equipment, general vehicle operation, general office maintenance, and other related duties.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Clean up the site
Clean all on-site equipment
Perform yard work, including blowing the customer area and trash removal
Operate general site equipment (Blowers, pressure washers)
Perform general office maintenance and repairs, including painting and janitorial work
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Work overtime and rotate shifts from the scheduled start time to the scheduled end time
Take an active role in the improvement of safety and health in the workplace
Participate in all required Company meetings, including weekly safety meetings
Experience in a landfill, transfer station, or waste experience preferred.
Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the day
Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
Ability to be self-directed as well as work in a team environment
Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screen
Other duties as assigned
Ability to complete safety, operational, and other required training within a scheduled time period
Communication skills sufficient to complete required job functions

Hiring Requirements/Preferences:
High school diploma or GED or equivalent
A minimum of 6 months of related experience in an industrial environment is required. Two years' experience in an industrial environment as a Material Handler or comparable position is preferred
