Key Responsibilities: * During the mobilization process, the laborer will assist in offloading the dredge, the slurry pipe, dewatering equipment, and any other support equipment necessary for the mobilization of the job. * Assist in setting the dredge into the water, cabling and assembling the machine, and fusing or bolting together the pipeline. * Assist in setting up the dewatering equipment and/or Geo-tube placement, depending on the configuration of the job site and dewatering process. * Assist in the dredging operations which include moving the dredge, checking and adding polymer as needed to the chemical injection system, taking periodic samples of the slurry, assisting in fueling, greasing, and checking all of the mechanical equipment, working the geotubes to make sure that they are dewatering properly, and any other job site tasks that are requested. * Assist the dredge operator in cleaning the cutter head, bunkering fuel, and preventive or corrective maintenance to the dredge. While all operations are ongoing, laborers will have the capabilities to learn other positions such as dredge operator or equipment operator to improve their skills which will lead to promotions in positions. * Once dredging operations are complete, the laborers will assist in cleaning all equipment, disassembling all equipment, loading all equipment, and doing final clean ups to restore the customer site. Requirements: * Must have some experience and/or a background in working outside in an upland or marine construction style environment. (Mining, dredging, drilling, earthworks/excavation, land clearing, offshore, under or above ground utility, heavy civil, etc.). * Must be able to work in extreme heat, extreme cold, and on the water. Job sites range from very remote to industrial plant environments. * Must be able to lift 50 lbs. * Must be authorized to work in the US. * Valid driver's license is preferred. * Must be able to complete tasks with minimum supervision. * This is a 100% traveling position so must be willing to travel. * Must be able to work out of town for 21-days+ at a time, including nights, weekends, and some holidays. * Project durations may range from 1 month to 1 year+. * Equipment Operating Experience a plus. * Mechanical knowledge a plus. * Knowledge of operating a small boat a plus. * Dredging and dewatering knowledge a plus. #GFLTalent We thank you for your interest. Forklift experience is a plus but not mandatory. Duties and Responsibilities: Must be able to lift and load tires of all sizes: personal vehicle, truck and tractor tires. Show up on time. Daily contact requires courtesy, discretion and sound judgment. Assisting with machine operation May assist in performing routine inspections and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects or repairs to dispatch, clean equipment. Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety standards. Other duties will be assigned as necessary by the company, such as truck cleaning and customer service visits to stores, to ensure they have enough work in the slow season. Skills and Abilities: Lift up to and including 50 pounds (50+ with assistance) on a routine basis. Be physically capable of loading upwards of 1,220 tires per day. Must be physically capable of climbing in a trailer unassisted in a safe manner to reduce injury. Learn to lace tires in a safe manner to prevent injury and maintain a secure load during transport. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors and the public. Ability to work independently with general instructions. Ability to perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditions. Ability to make independent judgments which have a moderate impact on the company. Education and Experience: Prior experience in the tire recycling or manufacturing industry is a plus. Compensation: $14.75 hourly. Paid bi-weekly. Job Summary : The Yard Laborer is responsible for the general support and maintenance of the yard with tasks such as tool inventory, maintenance of heavy equipment and trucks, and logistics and coordination of material deliveries at the branch.
