**Location Description**
Wakefield is one of the largest production facilities within Michael Foods. We serve as a flex plant and are able to produce everything from a whole pasteurized egg to liquid, dried, hardboiled and curds.
**Responsibilities**
**Position Summary:**
Hardcooked Laborers perform a variety of essential production and labor duties within the hard-cooked department. Responsibilities include inspecting product and packaging, ensuring correct labeling and counts, and maintaining quality standards. This role supports safety protocols and adheres to food safety and quality procedures to enhance product consistency.
**Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ Inspect finished product packaging for shell fragments, grades, and accurate egg counts.
+ Assist in egg quality inspection, removing broken eggs and shell fragments as necessary.
+ Apply correct labels to tubs and understand date codes and item numbers.
+ Ensure bags and pails are properly sealed and clean.
+ Assist operators with machine start-ups and film changes.

Drilling the holes with precision and accuracy per the framing instructions of the customers.

Install any and all associated markings per the customers' specifications, including but not limited to; star locks, marking tags, specialty tags, burn brands, balance points.
Assisting with other duties as assigned by Management

As a Yard Laborer/Framer, you are responsible for accurately setting the “face” of the poles, precisely and accurately drilling the proper holes, and placing the necessary gains. In addition, you will do the proper ground line preparation, as well as attaching identification tags on the utility poles. You will also be available to assist the other employees with any physical tasks associated with the operation of the pole yard and treating plant.
As a Yard Laborer/Framer, you will:
Shave with a draw knife, any areas missed by the mechanical shaver, and problem spots or repairing damaged spots on poles and other products.
Measuring and marking properly the locations of the gains, holes, tags and other associated parts of poles and other products.
Measuring ground lines, tops, knots of poles and other products for compliance with ANSI, AWAP, ASTM, REA grading standards.
Properly identify any defects, limited or prohibited, and apply the proper grading rules per ANSI, AWPA, ASTM, REA standards.
Drilling the holes with precision and accuracy per the framing instructions of the customers.
Performing the proper ground-line preparation on poles that require it.
Install any and all associated markings per the customers' specifications, including but not limited to; star locks, marking tags, specialty tags, burn brands, balance points.
Assisting with other duties as assigned by Management

1st shift - Start times vary from 5:30-7a, - 2-3pm depending on the time of year.
Monday-Friday with overtime as needed.

Compensation: $23.90/hr. + $2/hr. shift differential
Schedule: 2nd shift: Monday - Friday, 3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.
3rd shift: Sunday - Thursday, 11:00 p.m. -7:00 a.m.
A Brief Summary of This Position:
The General Labor Parts Inspection Support is an individual contributor role that encompasses multiple duties including supplying or holding hanging parts, providing materials tools, and cleaning work area and equipment. General Labor Parts Inspector may operate forklift, overhead crane, or other equipment to move product. The Parts Inspector must be a highly driven individual that will safely and efficiently use various types of grinders and other tools to remove slag and mill scale from plasma and oxy/fuel cut parts.
Essential Functions:
Use various types of grinders and other tools to remove slag and mill scale from plasma and oxy/fuel cut parts
Verify that parts are dimensionally correct in comparison to blueprints and labeled correctly
Touch up parts and attach ID tags by means of GMAW/MIG welding
Sort parts and send them to the appropriate assembly shop
Track labor per order appropriately
All other duties as assigned by Department leadership
Important Details about the Role
Read and decipher blueprints correctly
Use and read tape measures accurately
Make mathematical calculations in preparing product or setting up the machinery
Setup, operate, and perform general maintenance of equipment
Must have an acceptable attendance and prior employment record
Operate the basic functions of a personal computer
This position reports into Production Supervisor
Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
No Degree Required
One (1) year production experience
Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, although most frequent lift is up to 20 pounds
Capable of performing simple math, fractions and fraction to decimal conversions
Ability to become Valmont trained and certified in the operation of a forklift
High awareness for safety at all times
Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required in the production facility
Read blueprints and specifications
Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment
The ability to pass a 1G flat weld assessment
The ability to operate an overhead crane
The ability to read a tape measure
The ability to maintain an organized working environment
Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
One (1) year of previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
The ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner
Close attention to detail and follow work instructions
Demonstrate a commitment to Safety through excellent safety practices and behaviors by conforming to all Valmont safety policies and procedures
Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results
