The Manager, Manufacturing Innovation will be responsible for supporting new process innovation, technology evaluations and commercialization for advancing Ingredion's 2030 Sustainability Agenda of targeted GHG, water and wastewater reductions across multiple growth platforms. The individual will also be responsible for all aspects of building and managing a small team of engineers including technical direction, team development and coaching, business strategy development and growth of the group.
Core Responsibilities:
Manage and coach the team in excellence in safety behavior, goal setting, development plans, performance appraisals, training, and engagement with business deliverables Drive the team to collaborate with colleagues to make significant contribution to deliver goals and execute project plans Support the delivery of Ingredion's Corporate GHG, Water and COD targets through execution of carbon sequestration program(s), novel wastewater treatment technologies, etc.Actively network with colleagues inside and outside the industry to discover emerging trends in sustainable manufacturing process technologies Identify and develop novel process technologies that will deliver structural cost reduction in specialties product lines Begin applied research program to investigate process intensification approaches to step-change CapEx and OpEx intensity reduction in manufacturing operations Evaluate new and novel technologies for application to existing manufacturing processes; scan the organization and the market for best practices to improve operations capabilities Facilitate the sharing of new technologies and approaches across the organization; utilize open innovation platforms to source ideas from external parties Build project management capability, and establish project management leadership; balance and optimize project portfolio to increase project execution performance Identify creative opportunities to digitize manufacturing operations

Qualified candidates will have:
Bachelor/Master of Science with 15+ years relevant experience or PhD with 10+ years relevant experience in Biochemical, Food or other water and energy intensive industries Experience in the management and leadership development of research professionals (engineers, chemists, etc.) Expertise in the food processing, pharmaceutical, or nutraceutical industry with emphasis on scale-up from pilot to manufacturing Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills. Must be able to convey information in a clear, focused, and concise manner Demonstrated ability to build and foster relationships with leadership of business units, R&D, Technical Service, Manufacturing, and Regulatory groups to drive delivery on projects Strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills with knowledge of basic statistics, measurement systems assessment and six-sigma principles Digital awareness and analytics understanding Demonstrated willingness to develop listening and influencing skills Demonstrated innovative, strategic, and operational thinking, with an ability to adapt to emerging trends Strong business and financial acumen and ability to translate into operations strategy

We have an opportunity for a Digital Manufacturing Manager to join our Cary, NC team. You will be for leading a team to standardize process, select and deploy enterprise applications, and implement smart factory “best practices” throughout the global network of Pentair manufacturing sites. The candidate ensures that there is consistency in the way all Digital manufacturing operational technology (OT) processes are engineered, documented, and sustained in the network while also acting as a liaison to the IT organization. The individual will drive strategic initiatives and roadmaps into building a data driven culture while maximizing the ROI to improve operational performance throughput, yield, quality, prediction, and prescription at Pentair manufacturing sites.

The Digital Manufacturing Manager will act as a thought leader to develop strategic project roadmap and prepare the financial planning of smart factory capital expenditures. Lead the management and communication of project objectives to ensure successful technical and financial execution; work with leadership to identify objectives and to acquire funding; develop key suppliers that enable project execution. In this role, the candidate will be technically capable to drive industry standards and set guidelines for electrical controls, communication networks, system software stack, and application development. This includes providing leadership, analysis, design of the technical architecture, and facilitation of external system integrators to implement projects globally.

The candidate will actively lead the research of emerging technologies and usage in the industry to build future competitive advantage for Pentair's manufacturing processes. The individual will partner with site operations & engineering managers (and teams), along with close relationships to corporate IT, network infrastructure, cyber security, and the Global technology center (India) for customized application development where applicable.

The manager is required to be a strategic thinker with solid analytical, verbal communication, and presentation skills that can be used to influence and align CAPEX project pipeline.
You will:
Develop and execute the global strategy for digital transformation of manufacturing that will advance operational KPI's -- safety, quality, delivery, and cost.Identity, Propose and implement the methods to standardize smart factory processes, platform, and tools to ensure availability of process information through the business enterprise system.Ensures alignment of digital manufacturing strategy by establishing a pipeline of process connectivity capabilities required by the business.Provide directional leadership in prioritizing by assessing requirements across multiple sites.Develop business cases with supporting financial justification that illustrate the proof of value of the investment.Create foundation to collect, visualize, control, predict, and prescribe information within an integrated network that drives value chain transformation.Create and enhance current methodologies of Smart factory assessment model, standard work, and specific guided methods from initial discussion through post auditing of the project.Research and propose IT technologies (software, infrastructure, etc.) that will be used to converge IT/OT information digitization that can be shared regionally and globally.Generate ideas for wire frames and visualization techniques that guide internal application development or system integrators.Create playbook and process for validating smart factory readiness prior to kick off projects.Remain up to date on all methods of digital manufacturing and related technologies.Deploy leading technological advancements to achieve SQDC improvements.Mastery of technological solutions according to the ISA-95 model.Brief Business Division and Enterprise Leadership on strategy and projects, data automation objectives and digital transformation concepts.Serve as a catalyst for creating collaborative environment and digital manufacturing community. Plan and organize key learning events and summits at enterprise level.Ability to create and/or understand value stream maps, time studies, and production schedules.Operational background with ability to seek & identify manufacturing and process problems Travel is estimated at 40%.

Key Qualifications:
B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering or similar required.7+ years' experience related to Digital Manufacturing/Smart Factory/Industry 4.0, control design and operational technology is required.3 years' experience in Lean and Continuous Improvement application.Demonstration of strong project management skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required.Must be self-motivated leader to drive operational transformation with a passion for continuous improvement
