Project Engineer
with strong project management skills to support both new and on-going development programs within Bell's Manufacturing Innovation (MI) Team. The project engineer will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team including engineers, supply chain, integrated operation, and finance to manage the program from conception to completion.

Project Engineer Responsibilities:
Plan, organize and manage technical projects from conception to completion in the high-pace and demanding world of product development The role involves a high degree of ambiguity and requires creativity in determining solutions along with the engineering team to meet multi-disciplinary problems faced. Capture process and product requirements defined by Subject Matter Experts Coordinate efforts to complete the development of product manufacturing Coordinate with multiple departments (engineering - all disciplines, manufacturing, procurement, finance, marketing, strategy, IT, technical publications, customer support, integrated operations, quality, contracts), customers, suppliers and partners from different locations Create project plans (using planning tools, phased/gated approach), determine required deliverables, assign resources, and estimate tasks Manage and control requirements, risks and contingency plans, budget, deliverables, and project changes Contribute to project management tools and processes and shared lessons learned Monitor project progress and report project performance status (cost and schedule earned values) Build and provide presentations to senior management for on-going bids as well as for program status



Required Education:
BS in Technical Engineering, Manufacaturing or Industrial Engineering, Aeorspace or other closely related Engineering Degree. (MS or MBA a plus)
Required Skill and Experience:
At least 3 years of engineering experience and at least 2 years of experience in project management using PMBOK or similar standards. More experience is a big plus. Broad Knowledge of all Engineering Disciplines related to design, fabrication, and airworthiness Ability to influence without direct authority the direction of program and drive decisions Ability to drive the development of technical solutions to complex problems, using ingenuity and creativity Demonstrated leadership in a matrixed environment, with challenging goals/objectives Excellent presentation and communication skills with all levels in the organization Demonstrated team building and coordination skills Interpersonal and communication skills MS Project or MS Primavera software experience or similar Knowledge of Dassault Systemes, SAP, Primavera or MS Project are a plus.

Perform analysis of operational processes, potential growth scenarios, and equipment to recommend and implement improvements. Author technical requirements documentation in support of manufacturing and facility expansion projects.

Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):


Determining facility and equipment specifications. Analyzing project costs and preparing capital expenditure requests. Designing and overseeing the implementation of facility expansion, production layout, and specialized manufacturing equipment. Developing potential production layouts within AutoCAD Coordinating and overseeing contractors performing maintenance activities. Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, building codes, and health and safety standards. Preparing update presentations and communications to stakeholders.

Education and/or Experience:



Four-year degree from an accredited college in an Engineering field or equivalent. Manufacturing Engineering and Mechanical Engineering preferred



Demonstrated Proficiencies/Skills/Abilities:

This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services. Production and Processing: Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft office and computer usage/application. CAD software skills desired - skills in Creo preferred. Knowledge of ERP and MES systems desired. The Manufacturing Project Engineer is responsible for identifying, developing, and managing capital projects throughout Hi-Cone's manufacturing process. This is a hands-on role that will support projects across all global locations and is based out of our Itasca, Illinois facility.
**Primary Responsibilities:**

**Capital Projects**

+ Identify and develop capital projects required to drive higher efficiency, address plant capacity needs, and address the obsolescence of currently installed equipment.

+ Manage the execution of capital projects, including developing project scope, developing machinery specifications, coordinating outside resources, scheduling to minimize interruptions to operations, and delivering on time and on budget.

**Operational Support**

+ Support plant maintenance and engineering in implementing updated processes around spare parts, preventative maintenance, and other continuous improvement exercises.

**Other Responsibilities**

+ Participate on a cross-functional team focused on manufacturing process PFMEA

+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering

+ Experience managing multiple projects of $1M+ and projects affecting multiple sites in a manufacturing setting. Experience managing international projects is preferred.

+ PMP certification is a plus

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office

+ Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD, preferably Solidworks and/or AutoCAD

+ High level of written and oral communication skills, organizational planning, teamwork, analytical reasoning, and adaptability, including the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines

+ Able to work in a team-oriented environment, collaborating with multiple departments

+ Self-starter with a lot of energy to see projects through to completion and takes accountability for all aspects of managed projects

+ Ability to travel as needed per project - up to 20%
