Here's the Gist:

Wolfspeed is seeking a proven, hands-on Semiconductor Quality Manager to proactively lead the Manufacturing Quality function for Wolfspeed silicon carbide wafer manufacturing in the Raleigh/Durham area of North Carolina. This person will be responsible for establishing, executing, and continually improving the silicon carbide materials quality management system. The Materials Manufacturing Quality Manager will have significant influence over the growth of the Quality Management System as the Materials business expands. This person will be a key leader within the Manufacturing Quality Engineering team.
To be successful, this person will be a highly driven, self-motivated leader who can create a system, organization, and total quality culture that is adept at continual improvement across multiple operational functions.
This position reports to the Director of Manufacturing Quality and is based in Durham, NC.

The Day-to-Day:
Manage and drive high visibility projects to establish and grow a world-class semiconductor materials quality management system.Interface with senior leaders on the technical evaluation of quality issues.Establish a management system to support all quality management activities (audits, change management, nonconforming material management, problem solving 8Ds, etc.).Interface with customers and internal teams to solve complex problems.Drive quality improvements in all areas of the silicon carbide materials factory.Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with key internal stakeholders including materials factory and wafer fab leadership.Direct, manage and coordinate the activities of cross-functional groups outside of the quality organization to achieve quality requirements.Grow the Materials Manufacturing Quality organization to support the needs of a rapidly evolving and expanding business.

This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Qualifications):
BS in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related degree.Minimum 5 years' experience.Knowledge in semiconductor quality systems, semiconductor materials, and semiconductor wafer fabrication.The ability to operate in a fast paced, highly dynamic environment and to execute at both a detailed level as well as a strategic level.Excellent communication and project management skills.Experience with IATF 16949 certification or auditing to the IATF 16949 standard.Demonstrated capability of interacting with senior leaders throughout an organization.Demonstrated ability to build and lead highly technical teams Ability to work in large, complex, global environment.

In This Role:
  • Lead software identification and implementation for Manufacturing organization.
  • Drive and partner with IT as the business owner of our operations excellence software applications.
  • Implement the following enterprise applications (including but not limited to): MRP, MES, CAPA, PLM and Doc Control applications.
  • Build software platforms for the enterprise to be used across all domains.
  • Develop the software capital investment plans, ROIs and justifications. Deliver on those plans.
  • Define, manage and improve the software and product development processes by working closely with cross functional leaders to deliver world class operations applications.
  • Deliver project plans to manage the day-to-day activities for systems teams.
  • Facilitate new business processes. Execute medium- to large-scale initiatives/transformations.
  • Provide leadership, strategic planning and budgeting for the execution of enterprise systems.
  • Develop applications across waterfall and agile environments to ensure business applications are delivered on-time and under budget.
  • Integrate DevOps best practices and capabilities into operations and engineering development teams.
  • Influence and lead cross functional, sourced or matrixed team.
  • Manage large application development systems.
  • Develop and implement training programs for new business applications.


What You'll Need:
  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of application development leadership experience.
  • 5+ years of Manufacturing experience.
  • 7+ years of people leadership with direct reports and matrix environment .
  • Experience with technologies : SAP, C++ or C sharp development, Python, application software for MRP, MES, PLM and Quality systems.
  • Experience with leading innovative, technically complex solutions for business and consumer-facing audiences.
  • Experience with designing & implementing cloud native solutions.
  • Strong understanding of API platforms, back-end services, database and networking components of full stack infrastructure.
