Job Summary

Responsibilities
+ Participate in the development of inspection plans for receiving, in-process, and final inspections.
+ Lead and conduct inspections as necessary in support of quality lab operations and overall operational requirements.
+ Provide training and guidance to inspector staff and operations personnel regarding the correct use and care of metrological instrumentation, storage, and maintenance.
+ Inspect metrology for cleanliness, status of calibration, and general good operation.
+ Guide and make recommendations regarding the sourcing of new metrology and methods for ongoing improvement of technology.
+ Manage rejections of material directly with the supplier, including NC and CA reporting requirements as necessary.

Work Environment
The position is based at the Kalamazoo facility, a satellite operation with 50-60 employees. The Quality Team consists of 2 Quality Engineers, 2 Quality Technicians, and Quality Inspectors. The role involves working in the quality lab, directly supporting the engineering team and receiving direction from the 2 Quality Engineers. Standard work hours range from 40-45 hours per week. The organization provides end-to-end contract manufacturing and assembly of medical devices, managing the entire process including supply chain, manufacturing, assembly, testing, labeling, packaging, and shipping. The work environment includes opportunities for development and leadership, alongside engineers who provide day-to-day direction.

The Customer Quality Technician supports the Customer Quality team by investigating customer issues, ensuring product quality requirements are met at upfitters through Vehicle Buy-Off (VBO) process, and driving corrective actions. What You'll Do:
Serve as the primary quality liaison between Harbinger and Upfitter, representing the customer's voice on product and service quality.

Train technicians and inspectors on inspection standards, documentation, and continuous improvement practices.
Coordinate cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, service) to resolve quality concerns and communicate progress transparently.
Analyze field performance and warranty data to identify systemic issues and develop improvement strategies.
Conduct Vehicle Buy-Off (VBO) inspections and audits to verify quality compliance at upfitter and production sites.
Support deployment of the Harbinger Quality Operating System (HQOS) to enhance reliability, serviceability, and customer satisfaction.
Develop and maintain dashboards and KPIs to track field quality and vehicle reliability performance.

Who You Are:
3+ years of experience in customer-facing quality roles within the automotive, commercial vehicle, or EV industries.
Proven ability to manage field quality issues.

Willing to travel extensively (50-75%) to Upfitter sites.
