Position Requirements:
Follow all Safety and Laser Safety procedures and requirements
Be able to construct, test and calibrate engineering and production robotic and computer-controlled assembly systems using engineering prints, schematics, assembly instructions and engineering direction
Knowledgeable in high precision measuring equipment, calibration, and detailed record generation
Experienced and Proficient in the following:
Mechanical hand and power tools
Oscilloscopes, DMM, Signal Generators, Optics, Cameras
Laser safety, lasers, laser pattern recognition, beam focus, and active alignment
Auto dispense and cure of UV adhesive
Multiple axis, vision assisted, computer controlled robotic assembly equipment in both a R/D and Volume Manufacturing environment
Identification of “Root” Cause of Manufacturing, Quality and Yield issues
Microsoft Office, Standard SPC and Flowcharts packages

Hex Pod Tables, Active Alignment
Excellent reading, writing, and communication skills in English

WORKING CONDITIONS:
The Plating Process Technician works primarily in an indoor environment on A shift which is Monday thru Wednesday and every other Thursday 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Works in a class 100 ESD sensitive wafer manufacturing facility; wears a cleanroom (bunny) suit, including hood, gloves, safety glasses, booties, and mask. May be exposed to hazardous conditions, chemicals, fumes, and/or gases during the course of work day; Stands and walks; performs various fine grasping movements, bends, and twists; operates a computer and enters information using a keyboard, operates a telephone, and other office equipment. POSITION SUMMARY: As a Manufacturing Engineering Technician, you'll be a pivotal member of the manufacturing team, supporting production of innovative medical devices for the treatment of cardiovascular disease. Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, the Manufacturing Engineering Technician plays a critical role in maximizing production uptime by maintaining, troubleshooting and monitoring production processes, equipment, fixtures, and tooling used in the manufacturing and assembly of finished medical devices. The role will be responsible for all site equipment used in production and new product development, including laboratory equipment. This role partners closely with manufacturing engineers, quality, operations, and production personnel to ensure production safety, quality, reliability, and efficiency goals are met. The role will also support continuous process improvement, process development, process validation, process transfer and other new product introduction activities. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide ongoing technical support for production equipment and manufacturing assembly processes.
Maintain performance of production equipment, fixtures and tooling.
Troubleshoot equipment and process issues to minimize production downtime. (mechanical, electrical, HMI/GUI).
Perform preventive maintenance, calibration, and repairs.
Create and maintain accurate equipment logs and records in compliance with QMS.
Set-up and test production equipment, fixtures and tooling.
Maintain accurate process and inspection documentation (MPI, QIP).
Train production manufacturing assemblers on manufacturing process instructions, equipment set up, testing and regular cleaning and maintenance.
Create spare parts list, maintain spare parts inventory to ensure availability and minimize downtime.
Perform installation and installation qualification (IQ) for equipment spares.
Remediate and maintain production equipment documentation in compliance with equipment SOPs.
Identify product quality process risks and collaborate with engineers to implement mitigations.
Identify and recommend process and operational efficiency improvements (throughput, yield, cycle time, etc.). Collaborate with engineers to implement improvements.
Support production data collection (SPC) and data monitoring.
Support implementation of lean six sigma manufacturing initiatives (e.g. - 6S, visual management).
Troubleshoot and maintain performance and calibration of laboratory equipment and maintain laboratory equipment log.
Assist manufacturing engineers with activities related to new product development, validation and new product introductions; to include setting up pilot lines, new equipment introduction, and executing design of experiment (DOE), process capability studies, process validation protocols (OQ, PQ), software validation, and engineering builds.
Support new product introduction (NPI), process transfer and production ramp up.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Required Minimum Education: High school diploma.
Required Minimum Experience: 3+ years of manufacturing engineering technician or equivalent (medical device experience preferred).
Experience troubleshooting, maintaining and calibrating production equipment, fixtures and tooling.
Experience following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Documentation Practices (GDP), and safety protocols (OSHA).
Hands-on experience with adhesive bonding and UV curing processes.
Contributed to the improvement of manufacturing processes and process documentation.
Ability to effectively communicate in English (verbal and written).
Proven ability to work independently with a given set of priorities.
Experience using hand tools, measurement tools, and other manufacturing assembly aids.
Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipment or fixtures.
Ability to understand and adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
Ability to read & interpret manufacturing process instructions (MPI), quality inspection procedures (QIP), engineering specifications, or other engineering/manufacturing documentation.
Must be able to lift objects up to 50 lbs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working in a cleanroom environment.
Catheter manufacturing experience (coil winding, lamination, coating).
Knowledge of Quality System standards & regulations.
Strong understanding of basic statistics.
3D CAD experience (On Shape or SolidWorks preferred).
Fixture design, fabrication, and assembly.
COMPENSATION: Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base pay for this role is between $35-$45 per hour. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for equity, benefits, and 401(k) with matching.
