Role Description: Technician I, Equipment Reliability performs primary testing and inspections of all capital equipment at approximately thirty (30) water and wastewater treatment facilities. Analyzes oil test results, using the CSI 5200 analyzer or similar instrument, in relation to design or rated specification, modifies or adjusts lubricant to meet correct specifications. Utilizes ultra-sound equipment following industries best practices when greasing bearings to prevent over and under greasing of bearings. Collects route vibration data using the CSI 2020 and 2140 vibration data collector or similar vibration analysis equipment. Takes infrared images using a FLIR E-60 infrared or similar camera to identify various mechanical and electrical problems. Trends and records and evaluates predictive maintenance data and recommends corrective action using various software applications such as the Emerson's Machinery Health. Assists Operations and Maintenance Departments in developing procedures, training, and processes to ensure equipment is operated within its design parameters. Reviews equipment specifications and standards and develops recommendations for reliability improvement. Stays current on new technologies and methods for maintaining equipment to increase reliability. Assists in spare parts review for ensuring equipment maintainability and availability. Practices Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) techniques including developing best practices and identifying root cause failure mode and conducting failure effect analysis.
