About the Role

The Engineering Technician will assemble, pack, ship, test, and help install Phase3D products. Responsibilities

· Cut, strip, solder, crimp, and assemble wiring harnesses and components
· Use standard hand and power tools to complete builds safely and efficiently

First Six Months:
Within the first six months, the candidate will be onboarded, become AM metals customer segment literate, and exercise mastery over the commercial value-add and technical specifications of the products. These goals can be accomplished via 3 main stages.
Month 1
· Understand Phase3D core technologies, technology roadmap, and business strategy
o Complete one calibration of the Fringe system at a development partner's laboratory
o Install updated metal fixtures in at least 1 partner site
o Supervise two biweekly tests, supporting developers in troubleshooting tasks
· Socialize with the cross-functional team, understanding each person's area of expertise and skills spanning the hardware, software, and product installation activities
o Take the initiative to schedule a 15 minute meeting with each member of the Phase3D team, including our digital fringe projection expert and our company coach

· Taking initiative to fill gaps in operations that you identify
o Lead all biweekly test coordination, successfully run 4 biweekly tests and write reports on the results for the slack channel
· Planning trips and leading system installations at customer facilities
o Lead the trip planning process for at least 1 installation
· Build sensor packages and assemble systems with minimal supervision
o Make 4 trigger cables and maintain stock of 4 trigger cables
o Build and maintain stock of 4 Fringe kits
· Provide customer feedback to the team for continuous product improvement.

What You Will Do
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Process Engineering Technician to join our facility. As a Process Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for supporting the development, optimization, and maintenance of manufacturing processes related to fiber optic production. You will work closely with process and production team members to ensure the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes while adhering to quality standards and efficiency targets.
Support the Planner, Leads, and Management to ensure daily setup of production lines align with daily production schedules.
Responsible for building prototypes and tool recommendations for new products.
Collaborate with process team to conduct tests, experiments, and data analysis to identify process improvements.
Perform equipment setup, calibration, and maintenance to ensure proper functionality and reliability. Setup calibration schedule and send equipment out as needed.
Monitor and troubleshoot manufacturing processes, identifying, and resolving issues to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
Conduct regular process audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and operating procedures.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, quality control, and production, to address process-related challenges and implement solutions.
Provide technical support and training to production associates, ensuring their understanding and adherence to standardized processes.
Collect and analyze process data, generating reports and presenting findings to the team.
Assist in continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting and implementing process enhancements such as work instructions/visual aids, new layouts or assembling equipment to optimize efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
Performs additional duties as required.
What You Will Bring
Associates degree or higher in engineering or a related field experience.
Experience using CAD software to support manufacturing processes, with SolidWorks experience preferred; academic use is acceptable.
Previous experience as a process engineering technicianin a manufacturing environment, preferably in the fiber optic industry is preferred.
Proficient in performing dimensional measurements and applying geometric tolerancing techniques as well as conducting calibration procedures.
Proficient in data analysis and interpretation, using statistical methods and software tools.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision in a fast-paced production environment.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies and meet deadlines.
Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and train associates.
Bilingual Spanish speaking is a bonus.
Proficient in using software applications for data analysis and documentation.
Ability to learn, unlearn, and relearn. The ability to learn quickly and continuously and maintain a flexible and adaptive mindset necessary for a fast-paced environment.

Essential Responsibilities:
Partner with product engineers to develop part configurations that are manufacturable and cost‑effective.
Work with the quoting department to define and review process steps, tooling needs, and cycle times to produce accurate costing for new and existing parts.
Act as a liaison with suppliers to ensure reliability and cost effectiveness of outsourced processes.
Develop, review, and maintain routings and process documentation regularly to ensure process efficiency and effectiveness.
Collaborate with manufacturing engineering and production teams to develop and refine CNC programs for new parts using best-practice, efficient programming techniques.
Review and maintain existing CNC programs and DNC library management to ensure up-to-date, efficient program usage.
Troubleshoot CNC programs, setups, and tooling; support and train production personnel as needed.
Use CAD/CAM modeling software to perform analysis, generate layouts, and support programming and fixturing.
Develop or review process steps for sales order checklists to support accurate order processing and manufacturing readiness.
Develop, review, and troubleshoot manufacturing processes, setups, fixtures, and cycle times; provide training and production floor support.
Evaluate, recommend, and test machinery and equipment for process implementation and capability improvements.
Determine rework methods to salvage non-conforming parts and minimize scrap.
Perform analysis and layout designs using engineering design software; assist with design and fabrication of prototype parts
Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred associate degree or technical diploma inManufacturing Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field.
At least 5 years of experience in machining processes, tooling, fixtures, and machining best practices.
Proven experience supporting CNC machining operations, including programming (CAM), troubleshooting, and DNC library management
Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications; proficient with CAD and internal software systems.
