Work also includes operation of the machine and a crane to move pipe in and out of machine. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Identify fabrication requirements written on each piece of pipe (5%) * Place pipe in machine, center the pipe, and tighten for work. After the pipe is in place, the operator will machine tapered threads into the pipe. During this process, the machine operator is responsible for verifying measurements, such as thread depth and correct taper (30%) * After the threads are cut the operator tests the flange to make sure it screws onto the pipe properly. REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: The production technician supports many functions for the audio visual team. They support the following events: Mission Command Training, (Joint, CORP, Division, and Brigade) War Fighters (Joint Operations, CORP, Division, and Brigade) they also coordinate with the Command Information Center for Video Teleconferences set up Senior Mentor Conferences workshops. These are either supported at the exercise unit (worldwide) location or here at Ft. Leavenworth. All Seminar Classes, After Action Reviews, Combine Arms Rehearsals, Battle Update Briefs, and Media Engagement Events are recorded. Also the production technician takes many still photos and videos of the above events. Any and all of these products are used by the army in their training of the units. The production technician places these products into a take home training packet that can be used by the exercised unit and the Operation Group back in Ft. Leavenworth. They also have to edit, cut and provide a DVD or CD of the above products to the Army so that they can review and use them in an informed manner when training an exercised unit. At Ft. Leavenworth the production technician is tasked to help set up the team conference rooms for classes and briefings. The production technician also sets up LCD projectors and computers throughout the team building to support training on the teams. High School Diploma. Required to apply for DOD secret level security clearance and possess U S passport. DESIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Able to work with Adobe CSS suite, Microsoft Office, and worked with editing videos and operating digital video cameras and 35mm digital cameras. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to travel unaccompanied to continental US and foreign locations. Must be in good physical condition, capable of carrying 35 to 40 pounds of equipment over varied terrain while keeping pace with military units. Must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Must be available to work flexible shifts outdoors and react quickly to schedule changes.
