Job Overview:
The Manufacturing Technician works on various operations activities to meet productivity goals. Fiber Global has four (4) levels of Manufacturing Technician positions which are based on the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the employee in alignment with what is required for the areas and functions of responsibility. This may include preparing, staging, handling, and moving production materials and finished products around the factory. Additionally, performing preventative and recovery maintenance repairs involving mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic equipment may be expected depending on the technician level. Technicians at the highest level will also be expected to be proficient in diagnosing and solving PLC faults, performing sensor replacements and adjustments, and are experienced in efficiently performing heavy repairs on automated equipment under pressure and short timelines.

Perform downtime impactful preventative and recovery maintenance on mechanical equipment, such as motor diagnosis and replacement

Monitoring and adjusting temperatures, viscosity, metering scale, and sequencing for materials used in production
Ensuring fluidity of material movement to prevent system and motor seizing
Level 3 skill expectations

Perform preventative and recovery maintenance that may require extensive diagnosis and/or major overhaul
Utilizing equipment such as scissor lift, ability to do rigging
Ability to weld to industry standard (MIG)
Ability to perform preventative and recovery maintenance on pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems
Ability to visually and/or physically inspect equipment to predict remaining useful life
Create and maintain documentation and user guides to support the production and engineering teams on maintenance requirements for equipment
Support the training of production and engineering teams to identify, troubleshoot and/or address basic maintenance
Level 4 skill expectations
All of level 1, 2, and 3 plus the following:
Diagnose and solve PLC faults, specifically with Siemens software
Perform sensor adjustments to achieve desired readings
Ability to deep dive into an HMI and solve faults
Work with Ignition Data Visualisation software
Address VFD faults and parameter adjustments
Address industrial HVAC and plumbing needs
Minimum Qualifications:
Depending on position leveling, a minimum of 1 to 5 years of demonstrated and directly applicable experience in a manufacturing environment performing maintenance-related tasks on heavy equipment is required
High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience and/or education in an applicable engineering field is a strong plus
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Operate equipment/machines in accordance with safety and standards
Troubleshoot equipment using root cause analysis techniques

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Quality Technician plays a key role in ensuring compliance with customer, industry, and internal quality standards in printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) manufacturing. This position has a strong focus on process audits, ESD compliance auditing, and initial investigation of material and process issues. Job Description The primary responsibility of this role is to perform daily production operations and standard operating procedures in a swine research facility. This individual will ensure the highest standards of animal care and welfare while supporting scientific research and production objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Swine Production Operations
Execute daily production tasks which may include but are not limited to: feeding, watering, weaning, breeding, animal movement, heat checking, and feeder adjustments.
Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments under veterinary or researcher guidance.
Perform piglet processing and animal handling.
Maintain clean, sanitary facilities through power washing and regular disinfecting.
Research Support
Execute animal study protocols in collaboration with research staff.
Conduct research-related measurements including weighing animals and feeders, collecting feed samples, and recording data.
Perform daily observations of pigs and their environment to ensure data accuracy and protocol compliance.
Assist with animal handling, restraint, and sample collection during research procedures.
Facility Maintenance & Safety
Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on facilities and equipment.
Promote and maintain a safe, secure, and biosecure working environment.
Identify and promptly report safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or maintenance needs.
Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
Team Collaboration
Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient farm operations.
Assist in training new staff on animal care and research protocols.
Support other farm employees with daily tasks as needed.
Additional Responsibilities
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Typical Work Environment
Farm-based environment with exposure to livestock, farm equipment, and varying weather conditions (hot, cold, humid, etc.).
Requires flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours as research demands.
Minimum Qualifications
Education & Training
High school diploma or GED required.
Relevant Experience
1-2 years of professional experience in swine production preferred.
Technical Skills
Knowledge of swine production principles and procedures.
Understanding of farm equipment operation and general maintenance techniques.
Familiarity with research principles, data collection, and reporting techniques.
Understanding of general safety principles.
Non-Technical Skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Effective problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Capacity to identify safety concerns.
Keen observational skills for detecting deviations in animal health or behavior.
Licenses/Certifications
None required.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more regularly.
Good body flexibility including frequent bending, twisting, and repetitive movements.
Mobility and stamina to endure manual labor, included extended periods of standing, and working with livestock.
Ability to work in farm environments with exposure to varying temperatures and seasonal conditions.
