Job Overview: The Mold Process Technician is a key member of the production team, responsible for supporting startup activities at the beginning of each shift, conducting equipment repairs, and troubleshooting molding processes. This role may be required to operate molding equipment, including mold presses, as needed to support production demands. Responsibilities: * Perform and direct the mold and material changing processes * Assure that mold set up, changeovers, and housekeeping standards are met * Ensure new job start-ups run correctly, making any necessary adjustments * Work with production personnel to ensure molded parts meet requirements, and make adjustments as necessary * Troubleshoot and correct processing issues including normal adjustments and checks * Ensure molding machines and supporting systems are set to correct parameters to meet the mold requirements ensuring production goals are met. * Verify process parameters and implement changes as appropriate, to improve cycle times. * Have a continuous improvement mindset by identifying and making process improvements to drive cost reductions such as scrap reduction, decreased change-over time, cycle time improvement opportunities, etc. * Inspect parts to ensure they meet the customer specifications' * Repair, maintain and keep spare components inventory to keep molds functioning correctly. * Recognize and stop production to correct any quality or safety issues * Review and inspect machines daily for maintenance issues and report discrepancies to the maintenance department. * Monitor, train, and coach the machine operators to ensure they are following proper manufacturing procedures * Work with Engineering to assist with installation and startup of new equipment. * Comply with all safety, quality, company policy and regulations * Other duties as assigned which may include support for the broader maintenance team in all areas such as facility related repairs. Requirements: * High School Diploma or GED * 3+ year experience in high precision plastics injection molding operation experience Core Competencies: * Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills * Proficient computer, documentation, and detail-oriented skills * Must have effective written and oral communication skills to communicate with various levels of the organization Preferences: * Must be able to operate forklift equipment and heavy lifting equipment. * Must be able to read and interpret measuring devices, gauges and inspection tools. * Strong troubleshoot and general mechanical skills * Knowledge of GMP under FDA/ISO Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements: This position will be based at our site in Salt Lake City, UT no travel. DPS Skis | PHANTOM Glide | DESIGN+ROOTS+ENGINEERING | Salt Lake City, UT Seeking a detail-oriented Core Room Production Operator (CNC Operator / Production Technician) to operate CNC and fabrication equipment, produce parts to specification, perform setup and maintenance, execute quality inspections, and collaborate with Scheduling, Engineering, Purchasing, and Shop teams to ensure safe, efficient production and on-time delivery. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Operate Core Room CNC and fabrication equipment per work instructions, safety procedures, and production standards. Perform machine setup, routine maintenance, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting to maximize uptime. Produce parts to engineering tolerances; perform in-process and final quality inspections and document results. Complete production logs, run sheets, quality checks, job tickets and enter data into production systems/Excel/ERP. Read and interpret technical drawings, cut lists, and production orders; take field measurements as required. Coordinate with Schedule Coordinator, Shop Manager, Purchasing, and Engineering for production handoffs. Support prototype builds, test runs, and continuous improvement initiatives with Engineering/R&D. Stage, handle, and transport materials/final parts per process; maintain housekeeping and PPE compliance. Assist other production areas as needed to meet plant output and KPIs. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or manufacturing certificate preferred. 1-3 years production, CNC, woodworking, or fabrication experience preferred. Mechanical aptitude and experience with CNC operation, setup, or manufacturing measuring tools. Ability to read basic technical drawings and follow engineered work instructions. Basic computer literacy (Excel, production tracking systems, ERP). Strong attention to detail, safety-first mindset, reliability, and teamwork orientation. Valid driver's license if travel between facilities is required. Physical / Sensory Demands: Frequent standing, walking, bending; repetitive hand and wrist movements. Occasional lifting up to 25-60 lbs with assistance or mechanical aid as required. Exposure to shop conditions (dust, heat, cold, noise); PPE required.
