Under the direction of the Lead Manufacturing Supervisor, the Processing Technician 2 is responsible for supporting the injection molding departments' operational goals. The primary responsibilities of this role will include Start-up of all down machines when ready, attending and actively participating in tech meetings, housekeeping, checking process parameters while ensuring all alarms are on and active, submitting first pieces to the Quality Lab, completing material changes, and setting scales. The Processing Technician 2 will provide troubleshooting support to the production group to correct problems. This role will act as the liaison between Production and the Process Engineering dept. This will be achieved by maintaining HellermannTyton's Quality and EHS certifications by supporting all corporate policies, procedures, work instructions and required documentation. Additional responsibilities include: Produce, purify and package chemical compounds to meet the requirements of MilliporeSigma customers Stage materials utilizing a variety of warehouse equipment including pallet trucks and Powered Industrial Trucks Verify the quality and integrity of materials and equipment Perform in-process analytical testing including workups and simple interpretations as described in the Master Production Record Update batch records, computer systems and SAP per ISO procedures Demonstrate proper lab, manufacturing and packaging safety practices in accordance with OSHA, EPA, DNR, DOT and other regulatory agency guidelines Maintain a high level of safety with our pro-active "see something - say something" approach to safety Participate in core operational excellence programs including Daily Management System, 6S organization and safety walks Participate in team-based objectives focused on improving safety, quality and production output of key manufacturing processes Engage in personal and professional career development through active participation in development objectives Shift/Hours: 12-hour night shift, 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM - 2/2/3 schedule (M/T on, W/R off, F/S/S on, M/T off, W/R on, F/S/S off, repeat) Physical Attributes: Wear an air helmet, respirator mask, safety shoes, rubber apron, chemical protective suits and gloves, safety glasses and goggles to protect from toxic or corrosive chemicals Work in occasional wet, humid abnormally hot or cold environment Sit, stand, walk, reach above the shoulder, stoop, kneel, twist, or crouch for long periods of time Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds Work with and in proximity of hazardous chemicals Use close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision and the ability to adjust focus Use a range of office, laboratory, and manufacturing equipment Work near moving mechanical parts Who You Are: Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED 3+ years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting Preferred Qualifications: Prior industrial work experience or chemical handling Understand chemical reactions and hazards Understand ISO and quality systems Mechanical and technical aptitude Read and understand written protocols Detail oriented and excellent multitasking ability Strong problem solving and equipment troubleshooting skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Pay Range for this position: $21/hour - $37/hour The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors. If this sounds like your kind of challenge, read on. Your impact Own the repair and ongoing upkeep of facility systems and packaging/processing machinery. Plan and perform preventative maintenance (PM) tasks that prevent downtime and extend asset life. Quickly diagnose and fix hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical failures. Handle plumbing repairs to prevent leaks, water damage, and lost productivity. Troubleshoot electrical systems up to 480V and work confidently across 120/208/240/480 voltage ranges. Apply practical knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, and HMIs to solve controls issues. Lead hazardous communication (HazCom) audits and correct potential safety hazards. Maintain impeccable housekeeping and 5S-minded organization. Take on other duties as assigned to support production goals. What sets you up for success High school diploma, GED, or an equivalent blend of education, training, and experience. 1-5+ years supporting packing/production equipment in a food-industry environment.
