Qualifications and Critical Skills/Expertise: High School diploma with 4+ years of relevant experience, OR Associate's degree with 1+ year experience, OR Bachelor's degree in a related field. Hands-on experience with tools, lab equipment, or manufacturing environments; prior production or assembly experience is a plus. Proficiency with precision measurement tools (calipers, rulers), lab equipment, and/or 3D printers. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities. Strong verbal and written communication skills for documentation, reporting, and team collaboration. Ability to take initiative, troubleshoot, and seek clarification to ensure accuracy and quality. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, and perform tasks such as bending, stooping, and standing or sitting for extended periods. Other Knowledge and Skills: Ability to interpret CAD drawings, technical diagrams, and assembly instructions. Knowledge of human anatomy and medical procedures is a plus. Knowledge of materials chemistry or materials science is a plus. Adaptable, eager to learn new technologies, tools, and methods. Strong organizational skills and a personal commitment to maintaining rigorous quality standards. Required Familiarity with the following Equipment: General lab equipment. 3D printing equipment (preferred). Calipers (preferred). Working Environment & Physical Requirements: Approximately 95% of responsibilities are performed in the lab, 5% in an office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly: Experience prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping, and occasional fast walking. As a Production Technician, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks including picking orders, preparing lens blanks for production, quality inspections, packaging, shipping, and maintaining warehouse cleanliness. As a key member of our production team, you will work closely with the Production and Warehouse Manager and Supervisors to ensure that all orders are produced accurately and shipped on time. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to our fast-paced and exciting environment and be part of a team dedicated to delivering quality products to our customers. The earliest this position will start is January 5, 2026. Compensation package: Starting pay is $18/hour, increases to $19 after 6 months, increases to $20 after 1 year Winter shift, Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Eligible for production bonus program Health, dental and vision benefits (80% employer paid for employee) 401k with company matching (4% employer match) 3 weeks Paid Time Off per year Company provided monthly parking pass or monthly transit pass Free lunches on Friday 10 company paid holidays per year 16 hours of volunteer time off per year $500 charitable donation match Essential Functions Support the Production Team in ensuring all orders are produced accurately and shipped on time each day. Handle all aspects of order flow as needed. This includes printing orders, picking lens blanks and finished goods, loading and unloading trays, quality checks, packaging, and shipping final orders. Operate lens edging equipment with a high level of accuracy and minimal waste. Manage a clean and well-maintained production space. Complete the daily checklist of activities (e.g. cleaning and calibrating machines, preparing packaging for the next day, queueing orders for overnight processing, etc.). Work closely with the Quality Department on maintaining quality control standards throughout production. Work closely with the Production and Warehouse Manager to maintain inventory and order flow. Keep the production area stocked with all necessary items, perform supply counts and solve any problems that arise. Continually drive efficiencies and work closely with the Production Manager to develop production processes and systems that reduce costs and improve the customer experience. This position operates in a production and lab setting using optical testing equipment and works around our manufacturing equipment. The environment is often loud due to the air compressors required for manufacturing. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and scanners as we are a technologically driven company. We operate under Good Manufacturing Practices, which may, at times, require wearing safety glasses and closed-toe shoes. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
