Principal Duties/Responsibilities:
· Performs expert level break-fix & preventative maintenance. This includes but is not limited to: observing devises in operation to location root cause of problem; dismantling devices to gain access to and remove defective parts; examining parts to detect imperfections; adjustment of functional parts of devices and control instruments; repair and/or replacement of defective parts; testing of device to observe performance; and performing tests for electrical circuitry and mechanical systems; reconditioning and repairing machine tools.

· May be required to setup and operate multiple machining operations including but not limited to: lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. May perform welding tasks.
· Conforms and complies with customer contractor codes of conduct, housekeeping standards, and safety processes
· Documents work performed in service reports, applicable management systems, and written explanation regarding observation and collected equipment performance data.
· Provides assistance to lower level technicians and leadership to project teams. Performs expert functions as a part of training and development.
· Troubleshoots and analyzes complex control systems to resolve in-depth software/ hardware and configuration problems.
· Utilizes advanced maintenance technologies to collect equipment performance data. Observes trends and makes recommendations.
· Completes and conducts on-the-job training and technical self-study programs for career development.
· Follows all safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions and guidelines. Situational awareness and identify unsafe behaviors and conditions.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSAs), & Competencies:
Essential KSAs:
· High School Graduate or equivalent (GED).
· Associates degree with a Technical focus and 10 years of related experience in specific industry; or, 12 years of experience in specific industry.
· Possesses comprehensive understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid power and control systems. Can analyze the problem, synthesize alternative solutions, and perform repairs.
· Must be able to use basic hand tools and specialized tools as appropriate.

Wear rescue fanny pack and rescue tube at all times while on duty.

Accurately record and submit incident reports as required.
Participate in and solicit others to participate in necessary YMCA financial development efforts, specifically the Annual Campaign.
Maintain certifications listed under Certificates and Other Requirements.
Adherence to all policies and procedures of the YMCA of the Iowa Mississippi Valley.
Understand and follow all safety rules and regulations including knowledge of emergency
procedures and location of emergency equipment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Must be at least 16 years of age.
Prior lifeguard experience preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS:
Lifeguard Certification with CPR/AED/FA for the Professional Rescuer from one of the following organizations: YMCA, American Red Cross, or other nationally approved organization.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee is frequently required to sit, kneel, stand, stoop, reach and manipulate objects; use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate lifesaving equipment. The position requires mobility attentiveness to visual and audible cues for recognition and identification of swimmers in distress or in process of unsafe behaviors. Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision, distance vision, use of both eyes, ability to distinguish basic colors and shades; depth perception, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus. The position requires proficient swimming ability and the proper application of rescue and first-aid techniques. Must have the ability to lift various materials up to 25 lbs occasionally and the ability to properly extract individuals from the pool(s) to the deck as needed in rescues. The employee is regularly required to use written and oral communication skills; observe and interpret people and situations; analyze and solve problems; perform work on multiple, concurrent tasks with constant interruptions; interact with the members and participants and deal with distressed, dissatisfied or abusive individuals.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to pools, wet and very humid conditions, and chemicals. Additionally, this position is located in a fitness facility and as such the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts associated with fitness equipment. The noise level in the work environment can vary from quiet to loud depending upon the programming that is occurring at the time.

JOB SUMMARY:

* Ensure the building and grounds are appropriately maintained and that equipment and work areas are clean, safe, and orderly, and any hazardous conditions are timely addressed.
* Monitor Human Resources to ensure compliance with employment laws, company policies, and to ensure practices maintain high morale and staff retention, including effective communication, prompt problem resolution, and a proactive work environment.
Develop positive relationships on behalf of the company with government regulators, residents, tenants, families, area healthcare providers, physicians, and the community.
* Manage facility budgets and business practices to include labor costs, payables, and receivables.
* Ensure a marketing strategy for the facility is developed and implemented that reflects service opportunities, completion, potential market area changes, and maximizes census, payer mix, and ancillary revenues.
* Knowledge and adherence to safety / disaster preparedness plan.
