What you'll do… As a Electrical Field Engineer, you will be a key integrator between Design Engineering to construction and system commissioning. Additionally, as an expert in system operations and design you will be assisting fleet technicians as a resource in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. This position will work a hybrid (in-office and remote) schedule based out of our manufacturing facility in Houston, TX and will report to the Fleet Engineering Manager. You'll make an impact by: · Able to read and understand system schematics and cable schedules for sites being developed. · CAD experience or the ability to markup drawings. · Strong communications skills to effectively communicate technical topics to target audiences who may not have technical backgrounds. · Computer skills in the use of Microsoft Office products, PDF editing, and required software for PLCs and Protection Relays. · Understand PLCs (Deep Sea Electronics, and other industrial PLC or PAC) and their ladder logic or similar functions or be able to learn them. · Understand system electrical protection relays such as SEL and ABB devices or be able to learn them. · Understand electrical fundamentals with respect to 3 phase power generation, power distribution, energy storage systems, integrated system controls, and system monitoring. · Capable of troubleshooting and repairing components of previous bullets. · Familiar with the use of tooling, multimeters, meggers, and other test equipment necessary for the commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical distribution and controls. · Create or improve procedures based on technical documents and experience of the above items. · Create and modify detailed drawings and draft conceptual models from layouts, rough sketches, or discussions. Marathon Pipe Line Company (MPL) - MPL operates pipeline systems that move crude oil from production fields, other pipeline companies, and offshore platforms to MPC refineries, other refineries, and other pipeline systems. Marine - Maintains and operates a large private inland petroleum products barge fleet, which is used to ship crude oil, intermediates, and refined products. Responsibilities:The purpose of the Logistics and Storage intern/co-op program is to identify and develop future technical and leadership talent for the benefit of MPC, the engineering intern/co-op, and the engineering profession. The intern/co-op program may consist of any number of work sessions. Multiple sessions give interns/co-ops the ability to rotate between the different L&S components in order to gain exposure to the various business segments and to offer a variety of assignments with increasing responsibility. Intern/Co-ops will gain experience in the 5 phases of the Marathon Project Management Process (MPMP) including Conceptual, Feasibility, Definition, Implementation, and Start-up/Close-out. Other responsibilities may include: + Development of project scope + Engineering oversight + Technical design + Cost estimating + Schedule development + Evaluating and summarizing bid sets + Construction supervision + Safety leadership + Coordination with operations groups + Project documentation + Travel ranges from 15-45% Qualifications: + Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering. + Concurrent enrollment in a Bachelor's degree seeking program for the duration of the experience. + Strong academic performance. + Candidates must be authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future. + Availability to work 40 hours per week. + Positions are available Spring, Summer, and Fall semesters. + Availability for multiple work terms is preferred. + Many projects will require travel to construction sites; therefore, a valid driver's license is required. + Military experience a plus. + MIN - $32.92 per hour / MAX - $41.67 As an energy industry leader, our career opportunities fuel personal and professional growth.
