It was sold to Armstrong World Industries in 1988 for about $330 million.

Overall sales in the tile industry fell 30 percent during 1990--91.
The company planned to open a new manufacturing plant in southeast Dallas in 1994 and a new, $18 million regional warehouse built adjacent to this plant.
Its long-term debt in April 1997 was $470.7 million.
