What will you be doing?
· Set up tables with china, silverware, and other service equipment in accordance with Event Order (EO) and break down assigned banquet rooms according to manager's instructions.
· Services of food and beverages according to standards and event orders.
· Prepare work areas such as coffee stations prior to function, maintain condition and cleanliness of banquet rooms, public areas, and storage areas.
· Attend all scheduled mandatory Banquet Department meetings, trainings and hotel meetings.
· Maintain standards of quality and service according to Marcus Hotels and Resorts and Marriott standards.
· Perform all other related duties and special projects as requested and/or assigned.
What you will bring to the role?
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Ability to obtain and maintain an active Lancaster County Food Handler and Responsible Beverage Service Training Certification as well as any additional training / certification requirements per Marcus Hotels & Resorts, Marriott and Lancaster County.
· Must be able to work a varied schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, holidays, game days and the ability to work under pressure.
· Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or carry 30 lbs. and ability to stand and move throughout continuously to perform essential job functions.
· Must be detail-orientated, able to multi-task, produce high quality and accurate work as well as show professionalism in all facets of the workplace.
· Must be able to represent the company in a professional, well-groomed and courteous manner at all times.

Prior restaurant and/or banquet serving, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred.

Part-time Description
Responsible for mixing and serving alcoholic beverages, serving non-alcoholic beverages and selling food items to guests. Creates a friendly and memorable experience for guests by providing excellent customer service. Increases sales by promoting special drinks and menu items.
Bartender Duties and Responsibilities:
Mixes ingredients such as liquor, soda etc. to prepare cocktails and other drinks according to established recipes
Serves wine, beer and food to guests in a timely and professional manner
Collects payments (credit cards or cash) for items served following established accounting procedures for all transactions
Strong cash handling skills
Monitor inventory of beverages to ensure adequate stock is maintained and properly rotated
Knowledge of bar equipment and preventive maintenance
Observe and respond to guests' needs to ensure a positive customer service experience
Has thorough knowledge of food, wine, alcohol and non-alcoholic beverage menus
Responds calmly to angry guests
Checking identification of customers in order to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol
Follow alcohol awareness procedures for preventing intoxication of guests and/or handling intoxicated guests
Prepare drinks properly and verify correct pricing
Assist servers in bar knowledge (proper glassware, correct garnish, etc.).
Possesses proficient knowledge of liquor
Able to prepare an extensive variety of different drinks
Maintains professional knowledge on new and revised beverage recipes
Clean and sanitize workplace according to company procedures to ensure compliance with health regulations
Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner
Maintain a favorable working relationship with all other company employees and vendors
Work as part of a team and uphold the standards of the organization at all times
Dressed neatly and well-groomed in company approved dress code at all times
Washing of bar glassware
Bartend in other venues as needed
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position frequently lifts, carries, or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted.
Ability to stand for up to 4 hours at a time.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:
Qualifications & Skills:
One year of experience in a high-volume operation
Must be 21 years of age or older
Ability to acquire bartender's license
High school diploma (or GED)
Knowledge of drink recipes and in preparation of cocktails
Ability to operate POS system to perform all necessary transactions, knowledge of Toast POS system preferred
Must be available week nights and weekends

Ability to work service well and serve patrons in a timely manner
Ability to hear well amongst loud background noise
Frequent bending and stooping
